Job Description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with Zendesk in their search for a Senior Software Engineer, Kubernetes (100% Remote)

Zendesk started the customer experience revolution in 2007 by enabling any business around the world to take their customer service online. Today, Zendesk is the champion of great service everywhere for everyone, and powers billions of conversations, connecting more than 100,000 logos with hundreds of millions of customers over telephony, chat, email, messaging, social channels, communities, and review sites, and helping centers. Zendesk products are built with love to be loved. The company was conceived in Copenhagen, Denmark, built and grown in California, taken public in New York City, and today employs more than 4,000 people across the world.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build, improve and scale our internal runtime platform built on Kubernetes with a host of CNCF add-ons, plugins, and some home-grown solutions. Additionally, you’ll be helping us build myriad monitoring, management, and alerting systems, dashboards, tracking systems, and other tools. Our goals include improving Zendesk reliability, automating the operations side of software, and providing a self-service runtime platform to accelerate Zendesk product engineering.

What you get to do every day:

  • Work with a very hardworking and senior team of expert engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds and multifaceted experiences.
  • Design and build the core runtime platform running the Zendesk microservice ecosystem, based on Kubernetes and other open-source tech
  • Improve the platform with robust self-healing and configuration management capabilities.
  • Contribute back to open-source projects.
  • Assist other specialists in running their workloads on our Kubernetes-based platform.
  • Work with our compliance and security teams to ensure the systems we build are highly reliable, secure, and crafted to exceed strict SOC-II, FEDRAMP, and GDPR requirements.
  • Participate in a tightly knit, cohesive, and self-organizing Scrum team.

What you bring to the role:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of Software Development experience
  • Experience using Kubernetes
  • Proven experience developing software with languages such as Golang, Ruby, Java or Scala
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with continuous integration and testing
  • Strong ownership of your work, with the ability to drive projects from inception through to completion.
  • Care for clean software design, high-quality code, and accurate test coverage. We ship code frequently and fast, but stability and reliability must never be compromised!

For jobs in the US only: If hired, you will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and will be provided with an opportunity to request an accommodation for reasons recognized by applicable law. This is a requirement of employment for jobs based in the United States.
