Job Description

We are seeking a Global SEO Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. As an SEO specialist, you will work individually and in teams to identify, execute, and manage local and traditional search engine optimization tactics to drive organic growth to company's owned business websites. 

What You’ll Do:


  • Supports SEO/content optimization across all channels in collaboration with marketing, creative and engineering teams. This includes writing metadata, reviewing copy, managing image optimization and testing web pages for SEO

  • Conducts audits of existing content and the search landscape to improve search rankings

  • Collaborates with content/editorial team to ensure SEO is integrated before publishing

  • Partners with web developers to conduct SEO QA before pages launch

  • Partners with digital analytics team to track and analyze traffic and user behavior on an ongoing basis to measure success

  • Analyzes performance ranking data, crawl logs to provide recommendations to team members across technical and non-technical disciplines

  • Analyzes on-page, off-page, and technical factors of the site and provide recommendations to improve its overall SEO health

  • Performs keyword research, technical audits, content audits and competitor analysis to discover new SEO opportunities

  • Optimizes key on-page elements throughout the site, including navigation, internal links, semantic markup, crawling/indexing directives, title tags, meta descriptions, h1 headers, and more

  • Increases the visibility and knowledge of SEO within the global organization including preparing and presenting SEO best practices and helping define SEO as a KPI for all relevant teams

  • Analyzes, tracks and reports on overall natural search performance and initiatives

  • Stay up-to-date with industry news, including the latest SEO trends, tools and algorithm updates

Must-Haves: 


  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing and SEO, including experience managing organic search for high-traffic and high-domain authority sites

  • Deep understanding of organic search, SEO trends and best practices, as well as the main pitfalls and obstacles that can hinder SEO efforts

  • Expertise in on-page, off-page and technical SEO

  • Experience using enterprise SEO tools/platforms (BrightEdge, SEMrush, or similar)

  • Understanding of digital marketing and content development; ability to strike a balance between SEO tactics and brand voice/editorial nuance

  • Dedication to a high-level operational execution; track record of producing excellent results

  • Affinity for data, analysis and measurement

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, results oriented environment. Flexibility to work in a decentralized structure

  • Ability to advocate for best practices in a diplomatic way; able to articulate data-driven rationale

  • Ability to communicate SEO results and evaluate next steps to follow

  • Understanding of the usage of content management softwares and web development

  • Ability to effectively communicate SEO insights to internal stakeholders

  • Understanding of the relationship between SEM and SEO

  • At least 2 years working as an SEO Specialist or similar role that included managing and executing SEO best practices

  • Strong understanding of SEO factors and best practices

  • Experience executing SEO strategies and analyzing them for effectiveness

  • Experiencing using Search Tools (Google Search Console, BrightEdge, etc.)

  • Experience providing reports detailing SEO performance

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated

  • Proactive self-starter with a can-do approach to problem-solving

  • Passionate about continual learning and applying what you’ve learned

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments

 Education: 

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering or related field or equivalent working experience

Hours & Location: 

  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be remote while COVID restrictions are in place. The expectation is to be onsite at our Customer’s Menlo Park, CA office once it is determined safe to do so.
