Purpose, Scope & Dimension of Job:The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the development and delivery of STEM Scholars Program activities. The coordinator will collaborate with the grant Co-PI, Site Director, division dean, grant steering committee, and other college departments to administer and foster growth of existing programming, develop new and engaging outreach activities and events, and evaluate outreach and effectiveness of the program. In order for Mott to continue to build a reputable and quality program, the coordinator will need to successfully partner with administration, faculty, and external stakeholders in an effective and professional manner. The position will work with the above leaders, as well as faculty, and college staff to develop programming to support the STEM Scholars mission. The coordinator will be responsible for marketing and presenting program activities to a variety of audiences and working with the marketing department to develop and provide marketing materials that will showcase the programming while keeping the branding of the college intact. Additional responsibilities include registration of students to the events, data collection, and the evaluation and continuous improvement of programming.This position will serve as a consultant to all constituencies and will communicate directly with internal stakeholders (grant personnel, academic dean, faculty, advising, recruitment office staff) as well as external stakeholders, such as community organizations and K-12 educational administrators, faculty, students, and parents to ensure that Mott develops and provides high-quality and relevant program activities.Under the direction of the Dean of Science & Mathematics, this position performs a wide variety of analytical, support, planning, and logistical tasks.Supervisory Responsibility:This position coordinates the activities of the STEM Scholars program and may provide direction of student employees or temporary support staff.Essential Duties/Major Accountability:A. Development and Implementation of Processes for STEM Scholars program1. Meet with administrators and faculty in area K-12 schools to gather information and plan programming that will engage K-12 students with MCC. Understand and explain Mott programs, sequences of courses, Michigan Transfer Agreement.ii. Meet with internal stakeholders (Academic Deans, program coordinators, recruiters) to prioritize and create an academic outreach plan and develop activities. Facilitate regular program meetings.iii. Coordinate procurement of supplies, equipment use, and labs to deliver programming.iv. Work with college marketing and recruitment staff and K-12 contacts to market programs and activities, set up and administer registration for those activities, and deliver and/or oversee delivery of the programming.v. Interact directly with program students, K-12 students, and parents to deliver programming.vi. Work with project leads and other grant personnel to evaluate and document quality and effectiveness of programming.B. Summer Bridge Coordination1. Coordinate and lead all summer bridge activities.2. Assist with planning and attend university visits.C. Student Management1. Maintain a system of tracking participant engagements for grant reporting purposes.2. Maintain a participant database.3. Maintain contact with all participants throughout the academic year and via individual meetings during Fall and Winter semesters.D. Related Support Areas1. Bachelor’s Degree.2. Three years of experience working in program delivery.3. Experience with project marketing.4. Ability to work with and maintain records management systems or databases.5.
