Marketing Coordinator

PAY RANGE: $23.00 - $30.21 per hour, non-exempt position.

FTE: 1 FTE (40 hours per week)

TITLE: Marketing Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Marketing, Communications & PR Manager

DEPARTMENT: Administration

Job Summary: The Marketing Coordinator strives to increase awareness of and bring positive attention to the MHAAO with the goal of building appreciation and support for the mission. This position will create content by telling the stories of the individuals we serve, volunteers, staff, board, and supporters over a variety of communications platforms. Support the marketing department's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing programs such as email, event, social media, or content marketing.

Requirements: As a Peer-Delivered Services organization, MHAAO has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy that requires all employees, interns, and volunteers to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment in accordance with current Oregon and Washington State laws. Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Marketing, Communications, & PR Manager the Marketing Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to promote and support the organization’s public image through:

● Creation and production on all organizational materials, including annual report, such as quarterly newsletters, event invitations/advertising, program pamphlets, fact sheets, and development brochures.

● Create and execute a calendar of social media content across MHAAO’s social media platforms while maintain MHAAO’s branding.

● Manage social media and web presence to increase reputation and brand recognition.

● Coordinate product, event, or content email marketing campaigns, including copy, scheduling, testing, and database management.

● Create, proofread, and copy edit for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice.

● Assist with developing and managing web content and social media marketing programs, including blogs and public relations efforts.

● Evaluate and monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and creating comprehensive reports.

● Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational and Technical Experience:

● Must have at minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training

● Minimum 3-5 years of successful professional marketing, communications, or social media management experience

● Proficiency in the following "technology platforms:" Office suites (Google Workspace, MS Office, etc.), content management systems (WordPress, Squarespace, etc.), email marketing (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.), and productivity management (Trello, Kanban, Airtable, etc.)

● Proficiency in digital media production - photo, video, and audio - from pre-production to final edits; experience with Audacity, GIMP, and HandBrake is a bonus

● Understanding of and proficiency in graphic and print design principles; experience with Canva, Krita, Inkscape, and Scribus is a bonus

● Proficiency in social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and Linktree

● Familiarity with commonly used performance and growth metrics/analytics such as SEO scoring and platform-specific analytics

Skills and Knowledge Required:

● Must demonstrate initiative, strategic and creative thinking, leadership and judgment related to marketing, advertising and public relations for the organization.

● Must have strong administrative skills, be able to organize and maintain a significant number of projects with multiple priorities simultaneously.

● Must have the ability to develop and create the marketing material necessary to properly promote MHAAO.

● Must show careful attention to detail and be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

● Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

● Must have ability to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, board members, volunteers, and program participants.

● Must also have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all personnel in a team environment.

● Be able to exercise high level of confidentiality and discretion.

Personal Qualities:

The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about and committed to the MHAAO mission. Interact at all times in a respectful, friendly way with all MHAAO stakeholders, including guests, residents, donors, volunteers, partners and other staff members. Must be a good communicator and sensitive to various communication and learning styles. Is comfortable with the shared duties and daily prioritization shifts inherent to a small non-profit environment.

Ideally have lived experience of mental health and addiction recovery. Possesses an absolute belief in every peer’s ability to learn, grow and recover. Possesses insight pertaining to personal biases and worldview and how they may interfere with effectively working with individuals representing a variety of cultural, ethnic, language and life experiences.

Amount of Travel: Regular travel via car. Valid Oregon Drivers License and proof of vehicle insurance is required.
