Job Description TEMP TO PERM OPPORTUNITY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clinical Nurse Manager promotes patients health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff, working with front office staff to ensure proper scheduling and working with front office and clinical staff to ensure uninterrupted patient flow. Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that front office staff is meeting provider productivity standards. Works as part of the clinic provider team and assists the physicians and family nurse practitioners in the provision of primary health care.

Supervises the nursing and medical assistant staff and provides limited direct services as well as performing specifically designated independent procedures. Performs various specialized administrative duties which require in depth knowledge of the organization, policies of the program and general knowledge of other agency programs. Assignments are usually performed with general instructions, guidance and minimal supervision. FUNCTIONS: (job duties and responsibilities)  Functions as team leader for the nursing and medical assistant teams of the organization.  Manage and develop work-based teams.

Participate in daily patient care team meetings.  Adopt and implement innovative nursing practices to improve care.  Assists in recruitment and selection of clinical staff (Nurses, MAs and dental assistants).  Serve as a liaison between medical, dental and behavioral health to facilitate integration and coordination of care.  Oversee storage and handling, accurate documentation of and ordering of vaccines.  Member of Continuous Quality Improvement Committee and participates in its meetings and activities.  Member of Risk Management Committee and participates in its meetings and activities.  Member of Safety Committee and participates in its meetings and activities.  Ensures effective and efficient front office processes and overall daily supervision of front office (medical/dental) clerical staff.  Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that front office staff (medical/dental) is meeting provider productivity standards.  Assisting in the scheduling of staff meetings, trainings and staff development opportunities  Actively assist and participate in ensuring the continued implementation of the Health Center Operating Policies and Procedures in coordination with appropriate staff.  Oversees administration of Patient Satisfaction Surveys.  Manages staff schedule to ensure adequate staff coverage.  Oversee monitoring of clia waived testing and quality controls.  Addresses and responds to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies and members of the community.  Primary contact for non-emergency calls for medical/dental clinic.  Knowledge of all systems: Intergy, Dentrix, Medicaid etc. Functions at Intergy superuser/educator.  Promote professional development of staff by ensuring attendance and completion of trainings, workshops, in-service trainings and conferences.  Conduct performance evaluation of staff under direct supervision; monitor staff performance to ensure that employees follow all standards set forth.  Oversee the onboarding and continued training of new and established clinical staff. Organize in-service training for clinical staff, when necessary.  Provide training for improving quality.

Provide ongoing evaluation of quality and effectiveness of the educational activities to ensure the delivery of cost effective high quality health care.  Provide CPR and First Aide training.  Review and assist with the improvement of clinic policies and procedures.  Assist in ensuring that the Health Center is in compliance with all Department of Health licensing regulations and other regulatory bodies.  Assisting in the preparation of FQHC reports.  Participate in audit activities (HRSA, VFC, FTCA, 340B etc.) to ensure clinic competency and compliance with corporate standards.  Assist in coordination of and participate in health fairs and other patient recruitment activities.  Ensure an appropriate environment for the administration of healthcare and patient-focused care.  Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Certification of practice as a Registered Nurse.  Qualified in Basic Life Support techniques and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.  Must have 2 or more years’ experience in the management of a Community Health Center, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.  Medical knowledge and experience required.  Maintain current working knowledge of the health care environment as it relates to program operations.  Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, communication, management and supervisory skills.
