Small law firm in Minneapolis is seeking paralegal/legal assistant for temp to hire part-time position that may lead to full time. All applicants must be fluent in Spanish and English (oral and writing skills in both languages required). The candidate has experience in family based and humanitarian immigration law; has two years or more of working in an office environment; has two years or more of customer service experience; is detail orientated; is dependable, efficient and technologically savvy; has excellent time-management skills and is able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. As a paralegal/legal assistant, the candidate’s duties will include: filling out immigration forms and other legal documents, interviewing clients, drafting declarations and supporting documents for clients; preparing and finalizing immigration filings and cases; meeting and following-up with clients on their cases and on any information needed; managing cases; maintaining and updating client files and working one-on-one with attorneys on cases with minimal guidance.
Other duties may include answering client calls; setting up appointments, participating in firm meetings, assisting attorney in other legal subject matters, and other firm related administrative tasks.
Education Requirements: Minimum Associates Degree in related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years office and customer service experience; immigration experience greatly preferred.
Compensation:Depending on qualifications. Negotiable.
