Position Classification: Employee: Hourly Part-time, Non-Exempt Position/Business Title: Technical Director Reports To: Worship Services Manager Department: Ministerial Days/Hours: Varies/15-20 hours per week Reporting Location: The Kingdom Church – West Campus Salary Range: $15-$20/hour Purchase Requests To: Worship Services Manager Approval of Purchases From: Depends on amount: >$1,000: Executive Ministry Director; >$2,500: Executive Pastor Maximum Authorized Amount of Spending: $1,000 Overall Responsibilities The primary function of the Technical Director is to oversee the audio and visual production process of services and events. The Technical Director is responsible for supervision and management of the video, visual, lightning and audio ministry leads and teams. They work with the Executive Ministry Director to enlist any necessary equipment and to inform them about budget needs and expected expenditure. Daily, Weekly, Monthly Tasks LIST OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Arrive early and be prepared for all worship services, pre-service huddles, and scheduled meetings/rehearsals. · Oversee operation, training, and maintenance of all stage and tech equipment, and maintain correct and safe rigging of all scenic design and stage lighting. · Provide excellent production management, FOH sound, lighting, stagecraft/design, stage management, projection, and video, as well as coordinating service content. · Oversee high-quality live recording and at times filming of services for web and live stream Attend strategy meetings and brainstorm on media buying initiatives and suggestions Work directly with the Creative Team Manager, Visual Presentation Manager, Lighting Manager and Video Production Manager to come up with mockups and technical displays for worship services Provide accurate equipment costs and production setup estimates Work with the Executive Pastor to oversee the completion of projects and ensure that all technical needs are catered to Provide technical support for productions, programs, large group meeting and events Design, set up and operate sound, lighting, video, and visual presentation equipment for projects Supervise technical departments volunteers Provide members with ministry procedures and process documentation Ensure TKC weekly video announcements are created and given to visual presentation in a timely manner Oversee the upkeep and maintenance the Media equipment of TKC Be in attendance for special events at TKC or arrange volunteers to accommodate the requirements for the event Participate in the meetings on the TKC online brand experience through updated website and maintenance of social media accounts Video mapping and programing Maintain an inventory of all equipment for departments at each campus and save file on TKC cloud storage Ensure warranties are activated and recorded for new equipment purchased Oversee church historian and tracking system Oversee the management of Planning Center Online Services® and Calendar® for teams under your supervision (uploads, shoot location reservation, resources requests approvals, etc.) Attend TKC Full Leadership Team meetings Oversee the recruitment, on-boarding, and training of volunteers for teams under your supervision Verify the volunteer assignments have been issued within PCO SERVICES® at least one month in advance for teams under your supervision Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintains at least bi-monthly team meetings Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintains quarterly Best Practices and development training Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintain current team member contact information within PCO GROUPS® Verify that each team lead under your supervision provides and maintains its procedures and performs services accordingly. Oversee each team leader’s responsibility to ensure that their team members complete routine service-related tasks and responsibilities. Generate annual year-end team report for issuance to the Worship Services Manager (Accomplishments, Active Members, Concerns & Goals) by November 1st. Maintain the approved annual budget issued Personal Skills and Attributes a. Organization development a. Demonstrate competence in FOH mixing and have a good grasp of current audio technology d. Thorough understanding of the operation and control of audio, lighting, video, and other production equipment e. Thorough understanding of sound and video editing and production software f. Proficiency with digital audio mixing consoles Behringer x32 (required) and Allen and Heath d’Live C3500 (preferred), projection software (ProPresenter) and lighting design software (MyDMX 3.0) g. Video editing experience (Final Cut Pro preferred)* h. Graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom preferred)* i. In depth computer literacy on MAC j. Working knowledge of uploading video and audio files to internet k. Digital Audio Workstation experience preferred (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, Mainstage) l. Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint m. Quality monitoring skills to make improvements and corrections where necessary n.
