Job Description: Position Classification: Employee; Hourly Part-time, Non-exempt Position/Business Title: Accountant / Bookkeeper Reports To: Executive Manager Department: Administration Days/Hours: Monday-Friday/ 30-35 hours per week Reporting Location: The Kingdom Church – West Campus Salary Range: $17-22/hour Purchase Requests To: Executive Manager Approval of Purchases From: Depends on amount: >$1,000: Executive Manager; >$2,500: Executive Pastor Maximum Authorized Amount of Spending: $1,000 Overall Responsibilities The Accountant is responsible for directing, managing, supervising, planning, and coordinating all activities and operations of the Finance Office. This position is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and provides the highly responsible and technical staff assistance to the Executive Pastor and Executive Manager. LIST OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPost all accounting transactions into QuickBooks® (A/R, A/P, and required journal entries)Issue TKC Lessee(s) monthly invoices on or by the 20th and provide statement balances subsequently (if any) by the 10th or delegate to Financial Services CoordinatorIssue and initialize all purchase orders from EZ Office Inventory®Plans, organizes, directs, and oversees the work of assigned staff in the operations of the Finance Office and considers best utilization of staffing related general accounting, cash management, and internal controlsManages accounts payable, accounts receivable, contributions, and general accounting functions, establishes internal control policies and procedures to ensure that accounting standards are metDirects the management and preparation of financial records, including financial statements and related audits, in conformity with generally accepting accounting principles (GAAP) in compliance with federal and state lawsParticipates in developing and updating long range financial forecasts and trend analysis for use in financial planning and management of cash requirements and obligationsAssists in the preparation process of the annual budget and monitors revenues and expenditures on a regular basisOversees and reviews monthly financial reports and related documentsEnsures that proper policies and procedures are developed and implemented as appropriateAdvises and supports the Executive Manager and Executive Pastor in functions related to financial managementPerform the bank reconciliation for the checking accountsEnter adjusting journal entries as necessary, including depreciationPrepare and remit the accrued payroll liabilities payment using EFTPSQuarterly, prepare the federal unemployment tax deposit or confirm filings by Payroll service providerPrepare and file the federal payroll tax return and state unemployment return or confirm filings by Payroll service providerAnnually, prepare employee W-2s, W-3 transmittal, and vendor 1099s or confirm filings by Payroll service providerSet up new customers, employees, and vendors on an as needed basisEnsure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.Daily/Weekly banking requirementsEnsure the quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.Input and post Payroll internally and externallyGenerate and distribute weekly receivables reports and monthly profitability reportsProvide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilementReconcile monthly credit card statementsPrint and issue checks.
