Job Description
Location: Indian Creek, IL
Help move the teams systems, decouple it, move it into GCP and start leveraging the kafka and airflow infrastructure to push the system to be more real time 
real time processing - we want to know real time on shipping.  
Restructuring the Supply Chain is in the very early stages - must be very comfortable with ambiguity
Looking to give a full time visibility to the entire supply chain process - need better visibility at the international level

Data intensive applications - using Python, Cloud experience, Airflow, Kafka and heavy data storage technologies like SQL, Google Big Query, NoSQL, CI/CD is embedded in the engineering process, same as testing
Migrating to GCP, so any cloud experience is great, GCP is a BIG PLUS
Distributed programming and Micro services is a must
Event Driven - turning event driven to event driven - Real Time

Camera On during the day
Slack is heavily used
Team gels nicely - good chemistry

Staff Engineer (Architect) - Supply Chain Visibility & Planning

Partnering with Product, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair, our Engineering teams ensure that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.

The Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) teams are responsible for all of the systems related to the physical movement of Wayfair products. Our process starts months before a customer clicks on a product to see if it is available and continues until the product is delivered to the customer’s doorstep. This includes demand planning, supply planning, inventory positioning, warehousing, inventory distribution, domestic and international logistics, and of course order processing and tracking.

What You'll Do
Leading the domain discovery initiative following DDD practices and being the driving force behind the North Star architecture of the Network Visibility system
Building systems for asynchronous data processing and establish interfaces for several internal consumer systems.
Designing and implementing applications with decoupled codebases, deployment, and data stores.
Provide insights into opportunity areas for the platform, influencing priorities and team roadmaps in close partnership with Engineering and Product leadership.
Promote a culture of engineering excellence, up-leveling the technical expertise of engineers across Supply Chain Visibility & Planning.
Contribute to the technical development of engineers by mentoring and coaching them through learning opportunities.

What You'll Need:
Broad experience architecting and implementing robust, distributed, data-intensive applications (7+ years or equivalent track-record).
Track record of applying DDD principles and leading high-level architecting efforts.
Track record of technical leadership for teams following software development best practices (e.g. SOLID, TDD, GRASP, YAGNI, etc).
Track record of being a hands-on developer efficiently building technically sound systems.
Experience with architecting solutions leveraging distributed infrastructure (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI/CD) practices and tools (Buildkite, Jenkins, etc.).
Experience building web services with languages and frameworks such as .NET Core, C#, Python, Go, or Java.
Supply chain or logistics related experience is a plus.
