Database Administrator

The applicant we are looking for is someone who is capable of meeting the required contract technical requirements:

STE 1 – Understanding of IRS IT. An understanding of the IRS organization – its structure, processes, and leadership approach – is also desired.

STE 2 – Understand Interdependencies. Contractors must understand the interdependencies and how towork within each ACIO area, across each ACIO area, and with the IRS business units.

STE 3 – Consulting & Engagement. Contractors must have expert consulting resources with 10+ yearsof experience in communications and stakeholder engagement providing both strategy and execution support.

STE 4 – Collaboration. Consultants must have the ability to work seamlessly with in-house resourcesand other vendors. They should also possess an exceptionally strong work ethic, self-motivation, curiosity, and drive.

STE 5 – Filing Season. Contractors should have extensive experience providing the servicesdescribed above for Filing Season delivery and other large-scale IT initiatives and service-wide technology deployments, preferably at the IRS and within EOPS.

STE 6 – CIO and EOPS Executives. Contractors should have previous experiences with EOPS and engagement with the CIO and EOPS executive teams and be extremely well- versed in the vehicles,processes and practices for delivering stakeholder communications.

STE 7 – ACIO Filing Season Interdependencies. Contractors must understand Filing Seasoninterdependencies and how to work within each ACIO area, across each ACIO area, and with the IRS business units.

STE 8 – Business Unit (BU) Internal Communications. Contractors must have extensive experience coordinating internal communications and tasks with Business Units across the IRS organization. Theymust have experience coordinating complex technology rollouts and organizational changes.

STE 9 – Technical Writing.   Contractors must have experience working with and adhering to the IRS ELC, Associated Press (AP) Style Guide, Federal Plain Language Guidelines, Section 508 Compliance, Internal Revenue Brand Guidelines, Service-wide Internal Communications Writing Checklist, Planning Guides and Publications.

• Knowledge of MarkLogic best practices
• 5-7 years of progressive MarkLogic support in an Enterprise environment
• 5-7 years of experience with Linux in a Highly Available infrastructure
• Knowledge of and experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• MarkLogic Certified Administrator
• Proficient in MarkLogic server database management such as (Creating, administering, managing and tuning MarkLogic database Instances, )
• Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan implementation and High-Availability methods (including HA Clustering, Replication, sharding, and Mirroring)
• Creating Service Accounts, MarkLogic binary installation, establishing the backup methodology, and Application integration testing
• Experience with performance issue troubleshooting/tuning
• Experience/knowledge of backup/restore of large databases (terabytes)
• Proficiency with all aspects of the MarkLogic
• Experience with MarkLogic database migration techniques and beyond
• Experience with MarkLogic database administration x. Experienced Senior MarkLogic DBA with 5-10 years of experience
