WE'RE HIRING A SITE OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR AT OUR RONALD REAGAN NATIONAL (DCA) AIRPORT LOCATION
PAY RANGE:
$50,000 - $60,000 | TYPE: Full Time | SHIFTS: 1ST - w/ the understanding that you will be responsible to have flexibility to work any and all shifts if necessary

OVERVIEW:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe and cost-effective use of the facility equipment and labor within control of this position. Ensure all staff are in compliance with Inland’s policy of superior service and satisfaction while maintaining compliance with all written company and Government rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide the collection supervision for leads/and operators with the most current operational training to date in accordance with Inland’s SOP and operational manuals, conduct recurrent annual and spot training as well as health & safety training.
  • To work co-operatively with all other staff involved in the completion of assigned duties and to maintain communications with airport personnel and employees as required about current conditions of all equipment and operational status either verbally or in writing.
  • Ensure that Inland is following all Governmental Labor Health and Safety laws, regulations and policies;
  • To monitor all equipment used in the operation ensuring optimum performance and efficiency. When necessary, coordinate repairs on all equipment in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime;
  • To ensure that an effective preventative maintenance plan is implemented and maintenance and/or subcontractors maintain the facility equipment as per Inland’s maintenance manuals and to perform any and all maintenance functions as directed by management.
  • To ensure that all shift reports are completed and distributed neatly, accurately and in a timely fashion. Reviewing all operators’ paperwork for completeness and all entries are correct, then filed or promptly delivered to respective personnel;
  • To ensure that all required sampling and quality control testing is performed and accurately reported as specified in the SOP(s) using correct sampling protocol ensuring that the quality assurance is being maintained on all operational systems;
  • To implement and oversee the site’s Health and Safety program. To ensure all company directives are adhered to and abide by and stay current with all safety and health principles. To ensure issue and make available safety equipment as required in the day-to-day operations of the facility, thus preserving the workplace in an orderly and hazard free site;
  • To keep all of Inland’s and MWAA owned equipment, tools, and materials in good working condition, including keeping the equipment clean and in their assigned storage areas when not in use. Reporting to management and airport personnel when repairs are required that may prompt reconciliation at the end of the year.
  • To ensure that all required repairs are coordinated when needed so that they are completed in a timely fashion and as required utilizing Inlands purchasing program for the replacement of repair items or the purchase of new equipment;
  • To ensure that all truck transfer operations which include both loading and unloading of tankers, and transfers of fluids between tanks. Reviewing the bill of sales, tank levels and certificate of assurance(s) for the product being received or sold;
  • Schedule and arrange all of the manpower to meet the needs of contract requirements, which includes emergency repairs to facility, controlling unnecessary overtime and vacation/sick day coverage;
  • To assume overall responsibility for operations for the facility and equipment and to be familiar with all daily and monthly reporting forms.
  • To maintain a current and minimum spare parts list/inventory that will prevent any of the operational systems from unnecessary long shutdowns due to lack of parts;
  • To provide reports as required by the MWAA Contracting Officer and Inland Management on a regular and timely basis.
  • To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong leader and management qualities;
  • Cost control, budgeting and timely project delivery;
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task;
  • Must have previous experience with developing and managing budgets, creating spreadsheets and writing concise and accurate reports;
  • Previous distillation, chemical processing and/or airport experience is an asset;

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • College degree related to the position is preferred
  • Forklift Certification would be a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilities Manager will have Technical Supervisor/Maintenance/Lab Technician/Operators/Laborers
  • Technical Supervisor will have Laborers/ Operators/Lab Technician

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Mostly office work, but during snow conditions and when the airport is in de-icing operations, the Operations Manager will be required to have a presence out in the field to ensure that the ADS System is operating at its fullest capacity, frequent exposure to prevalent weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position involves sitting and standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms.
  • May be necessary to work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • May have to lift up to 50 lbs.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week, however due to the nature of our business it is a requirement for the Operations Manager (or his representative) to be on site during de-icing events to ensure that the ADS System is operating at its fullest capacity at all times.

TRAVEL:
Minimal travel is required for this position (annual managers meeting at Inland sites throughout North America).

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening or must be able to pass 10-year background check for airport security clearance.
