Operations Supervisor WE'RE HIRING A PLANT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR AT OUR WASHINTON DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LOCATION (IAD) PAY RANGE: $50,000 - $60,000 | TYPE: Full Time | Company: Inland Technologies International OVERVIEW: The Operations Supervisor is a “hands-on” position that is responsible for the safe and cost-effective use of the facility equipment and labor within control of this position. Ensure all staff are in compliance with Inland’s policy of superior service and satisfaction while maintaining compliance with all written company and Government rules and regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide day-to-day supervision of hourly employees. • Provide work assignments for hourly employees • Coach, mentor and train, leads and employees to operate equipment • Schedule employees to meet production and operational needs • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment and working environments • Plan and maintain production schedules • Assist with areas of production that need assistance due to short staff/call-offs • Supervisor other areas as necessary • Oversees and or conducts training of new or existing employees to include work methods and procedures, employee handbook, safety training • Interpret Company policies and direct employees accordingly • Analyze and resolve work problems and assist employees in solving work problems • Maintain time and production records • Must have a positive attitude and outlook • Instruct and ensure that employees are practicing safe work habits • Responsible for supporting, advocating and maintaining corporate standards for safety, quality and productivity. • To accomplish any other task that may, from time to time, be assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Must have strong people skills with the ability to coach and motivate hourly employees effectively. • Must be able to multi-task and the ability to work all shifts and flexible hours • Valid US Driver’s License • Motivated team-player • Strong computer skills • Previous distillation, chemical processing and/or airport experience is an asset; • Supervisory experience preferred or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: • High School diploma or equivalent; • College degree related to the position; • Forklift Certification. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Mostly office work, but during snow conditions and when the airport is in de-icing operations, the Operations Supervisor will be required to have a presence out in the field, PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • This position involves sitting and standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms.
• May be necessary to work at heights up to 40 feet. • May have to lift up to 50 lbs. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week, however due to the nature of our business it is a requirement for the Operations Supervisor (or his representative) to be on site during de-icing events to ensure Inland is operating at its fullest capacity at all times. TRAVEL: Minimal travel is required for this position (annual managers meeting at Inland sites throughout North America). SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening or must be able to pass 10-year background check for airport security clearance.
