Summary: The Director of Consultant Growth and Development facilitates, plans, directs, and coordinates the growth and development activities of the consulting staff. This role oversees goal setting, and supports coaching, growth, development and learning. The incumbent draws on evaluation expertise to deepen learning and awareness of the field and will occasionally lead or contribute to evaluation projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

1. Supervise Consultants

a. Help consultants understand expectations and perform to their potential

b. Oversee consultant development needs

c. Collaborate with project coaches and leads to develop and enhance performance

d. Provide regular feedback related to development and performance

e. Initiate and implement performance reviews

f. Manage, develop and mentor staff to assess engagement and impact on performance

g. Recognize consultant performance, strengths, areas of improvement and make recommendations about promotions, professional development, performance improvement plans and discipline

h. Support consultants in managing capacity

i. Manage the recruitment and selection process for consulting staff

j. Facilitate on-boarding and orientation sessions for newly hired consultants

k. Promote organization standards and guidelines

l. Address consultant conduct issues

m. Establish and maintain a professional relationship with consultants that leads to continuous staff development and excellence

2. Strategy

a. Guide consultant participation in organizational efforts (committees, conference presentations, community initiates, etc.)

b. Participate and contribute to organization strategic planning and decision making

c. Anticipate consulting workforce needs and make recommendations to address changing market trends

d. Help to align consultant interests and goals to those of the company

e. Promote team and company values

3. Occasionally lead or contribute to evaluation projects

a. Establish work and staffing plans for each phase of project

b. Coordinate others’ project activities such as design, analysis and reporting to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget

c. Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with clients

d. Ensure standards, guidelines and best practices are used on each project

Qualifications:

Required:

· Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in a professional services or business environment

· 5+ years of direct supervision of exempt employees

· 5+ years of evaluation experience

· Prior coaching experience

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

Preferred:

· Master’s Degree

· Professional consulting experience in evaluation

· Coaching certification
