The EDI Programmer/Analyst main objective is to develop, coordinate, implement, and manage all EDI-related development for the organization. They are responsible for developing, and analyzing specifications used for enhancements and extensions in EDI applications, interfaces, and mappings. They coordinate all EDI testing, implementations, and upgrades. Additionally, the EDI Programmer/Analyst serves as the primary link between the business and any data-trading partners; they work with all trading partners to determine the type of data they would like to trade and develop guidelines and specifications for data exchange.
Required:
- At least a four year degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience.
- At least four years of Healthcare related work.
- Extensive knowledge in C#, VB6, Microsoft SQL and JSON.
- Professional manner and accountable for work performance.
- Strong independent work ethic.
- Efficient and accurate coder.
- Experience with HIPAA transaction code sets.
- Strong knowledge of the ANSI X-12 standards.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability use relevant knowledge, keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job.
- Able to make decisions, solve problems, analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to problems.
Desired:
- Experience with Edifecs or other similar software.
- Design, develop, document, modify, and maintain trading partner integrations.
- Model, analyze, and maintain various data exchanges with partners.
- Research and understand technical documentation.
- Manage file transmissions to/from systems.
- Work with outside vendors to coordinate file transfers.
- Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
- Provide technical guidance or support for the development and/or troubleshooting of systems.
