Substance Abuse & Mental Health Counselor

The Healing Way is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Substance Abuse & Mental Health Counselor for our treatment program.

Job Duties:

Prepare treatment plans, bio-psychosocial assessments, case conferences, and annual evaluations

Counsel individuals and Group Sessions

Conduct intakes of new patients

Must prioritize well and focus on completion of tasks and objectives

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university

2+ years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency preferably in a drug and alcohol and/or mental health setting

For recent graduates – Completion of an internship of a drug and alcohol or a mental health treatment setting is preferred.

Successful completion of background check and drug screen

Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills;

Excellent organization, Time management is a must

A CADC/CCDP/LSW/LCSW/LPC is preferred

ASAM training necessary

Job Type: Part-time/ Full-time

Experience:

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • Master’s

Pay Frequency: Fee for service- very busy facility

  • Bi weekly or Twice monthly

The Healing Way

The Healing Way is an Outpatient Drug and Alcohol treatment center. We are multi-service program providing services to adults experiencing drug and/or alcohol abuse, emotional, social and economic problems. Using a staff multidisciplinary approach, The Healing Way focuses upon the client as a person and their needs. The philosophy of The Healing Way is holistic in nature. Clients’ problems are approached in a comprehensive manner that acknowledges the complexity of each person’s life context. The Healing Way utilizes several treatment models within both group therapy and individual sessions.
