ABC Customer Sales Associates work directly under the supervision of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager, working on a rotating shift basis as determined by the managers. Customer Sales Associates will abide by the North Carolina ABC rules and regulations, follow Greensboro ABC Board policies and requirements, and perform duties as instructed by the Store Management, Operations Director and CEO.
- Attendance: Work every shift as scheduled unless absence is the result of approved leave benefits, i.e. Vacation, Sick, Bereavement, FMLA (Family Medical Leave), Military, etc.
- Store Activities: Check ID’s for underage persons and exercise care to avoid selling merchandise to persons that are intoxicated, insure adequate quantities of liquor are stocked and on hand, assist customers in store, perform sales at cash register, receive tender from customers in payment for merchandise and make change, assist in daily preparation of sales reports, balance cash collected with sales receipts, assist with unloading merchandise from warehouse trucks, price merchandise, and keep management advised of store activities, store maintenance and potential problems.
- Store Inventory Accounting Activities: Conduct inventory as instructed per month and on an as needed basis, accurately operate ipod, work cooperatively with office staff in recounting items, perform re-counts accurately and in a timely manner,
- Store Appearance/Customer Service: Clean store as instructed by Store Manager, keep bottles fronted and in- line, maintain proper shelf management, keep stock room clean and organized, utilize product information, render prompt and courteous service to the public, answer inquiries from customers, take and fill orders from Permittees, listen to customer concerns and complaints, seek guidance from management and keep management informed of situations.
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirement includes High School Diploma.
Must have the physical strength to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds on a recurring and regular basis, and to lift cases from the ground to cart weighing approximately 50 lbs.
Must be able to walk and stand on a recurring and regular basis.
Must have sufficient vision to accurately read computer printouts, inventory records, cash register tapes, product labels, law and policy manuals.
Must have normal hearing ability to converse with visitors and fellow employees on a regular basis.
Must have the agility to bend, twist, reach, and stretch to lift bottles, bag bottles, check inventory, vacuum/mop floors, dust shelves, and obtain supplies and other related retail store tasks.
Work Schedule: Monday through Saturday, 28 or less hours per week
Travel: Travel to other Greensboro ABC Store locations, Warehouse, Office, Bank, and other locations as required.
On Call Status: Certain situations may require.
