Who We Are

The Get Smart Group is a diverse team consisting of multitalented, strategic, and creative individuals who thoroughly enjoy working together to serve our clients. We are looking for a Senior Account Manager who will oversee our stellar team of Account Executives who are all motivated, detail-oriented, focused, positive, and organized individuals who manage multiple client accounts at our growing digital marketing agency. As Senior Account Manager, you would have your own amazing client roster to manage, too. Party parrot enthusiasts and gif wizards are strongly encouraged to apply!

This is a full-time position for a virtual employee to be trained remotely. We will train you by working side by side with you on real client accounts as you learn our systems, processes, and skills over the first 3 months. Once fully trained (usually within 6 months), you will take ownership of your clients’ success and be the main touchpoint for each of your clients. What does a day in the life of a GSGer look like?

Yours is a juggling act that includes Facebook ad management, content & creative creation, Google ad strategy, basic Website updates (WordPress), video editing, photo editing, Infusionsoft/Active Campaign CRM internal use & client support, navigating review and reporting dashboards, blog creation & editing, creative writing, email broadcast writing and setup, Facebook scheduling, understanding Google Analytics, SEO monitoring, phone sales, and sales system support….and breathe! If you aren’t currently an expert at ALL of these things, don’t worry, you’ll get there.

Prior experience or familiarity with some of our tech tools would certainly help in this role. If you’ve ever had to download an e-book onto a hand-me-down Kindle for your grandma, you’ll probably do just fine.

Marketing Strategy

After your initial training, you will be responsible for maintaining your book of clients and the entire relationship between our company and theirs. We have an amazing team of technical people, writers, creative types, and more that will help you “wow” our clients on a daily basis. You are the wizard and the GSG team is your group of dancing broomsticks.

Content Creation

You will work closely and collaboratively with our content team to write monthly Facebook and Instagram posts as well as ad copy, blog posts, email broadcasts, and web content. You will oversee the design of ad creative and ensure that all online platforms including the website and review sites reflect up-to-date messaging.

  • Blog posts on client websites – Includes researching related topics, writing blogs with an SEO focus, and sourcing creative imagery. You will learn the clients’ voice in order to be able to represent their brand in the most effective and accurate way.
  • Facebook post creation - Write Facebook posts for our clients - includes finding and editing brand-appropriate photos for each post from our library of brand photography for each client as well as finding and editing appropriate general photographs. An emphasis is placed on product and language accuracy; always check for spelling, brands, inspiration, appropriate call to action, appropriate URLs and phone numbers for each client.
  • Email Broadcasts - Writing monthly creative emails for our clients highlighting their promotions, products, seasonal and regional details, and events to attract new leads and educate and inspire their customers.
  • Review - Follow the procedures in place for proofing other account managers’ work, and having someone check your own work before it goes to the client or is posted online.

Managing Client Ads

Create and monitor several clients' monthly Facebook and Google ads and budgets. You will interact with our clients, assist them in setting a strategy and provide monthly metric reports using our online tools.

  • Ad copy creation – Utilizing Facebook Business Manager and Wordstream, you will work to create the Facebook ad copy and correlate images for specific clients. You will work with our Google account managers to assign them the ad artwork, budgets, language, and timeframe for each monthly campaign for your clients.
  • Ad audience targeting - Work with managers to choose appropriate audiences to target your ads for greatest success. Edit as needed throughout the month.
  • Ad designs - Provide design instructions to our designer and incorporate those updated ads and header images for each monthly campaign.
  • Monitoring - monitor client ad performance and budgets at least twice a week. Make changes as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Reporting - Create monthly reports to show clients how their ads performed during the previous month and work with them to create a strategy for the following month.

WordPress Website Updates

On an ongoing basis, this position is responsible for updating basic WordPress website content, web forms, images, headers, and other simple WordPress site fixes for clients.

Leadership Team

As a member of our leadership team, you will interact with our Senior Executive team and report directly to the COO. You will also be responsible for managing the entire Account Management team which will grow to five or six people within the next 12 months. Prior experience managing others in a remote environment is a huge plus.

Work Schedule

Normally - no weekend hours will be required but occasionally special projects or last-minute needs arise and we will discuss as needed on an ongoing basis. There will be some occasional travel to industry specific events and team-building events that is required.

Hours: Our official company work hours are 10am-6pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Our employees typically work virtually from home or a co-work space, and most keep a work schedule of 9am-5pm(ish) in their respective time zones. Any individual working in this position needs to be self-motivated and organized, using the time management skills and tools available to our team members to get things done on time per our monthly production schedules. Access to copious amounts of coffee is a plus!

The Perks

We invest a lot of time training the right candidate. There will be a 90-day probationary period so both the candidate and the company can see if this is the right fit. Thereafter you will be a full 

Senior Account Manager, eligible for a raise and promotion and will earn vacation time and other employee benefits. We conduct regular reviews with each employee that are designed to help you reflect, improve and achieve your professional goals.

We do offer a health plan but you may find it’s less expensive to seek other options. We also offer a $100 a month stipend towards your chosen health care plan which you can use for any plan you pick internally or externally.

Starting Pay: Pay for this position is based on experience and qualifications, and ranges from $58,000-70,000 to start. You may be offered an hourly or salaried position based on your level of experience, skills, and any previous sales, or account management experience you bring to the table.
