Manage overall operations and maintain responsibility for the effective and successful management of team members, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and specific to the Operations Department.  Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, operational processes, enhanced management reporting and opportunities to expand systems.

A bachelor’s degree in business/operation’s management is preferred in conjunction with 5-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.  Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. It will be expected that the individual will lead and direct the work of others while performing the necessary tasks required by the position. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the VP of Operations and directly manages Operations Department staff.

The position description is intended as a guide the activities of the person in this position and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity to the work function.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish operational expectations with a focus on customer requirements at all times.
  • Manage relationships with all co-manufacturers and key operation’s vendors
  • Track co-manufacturers pricing, performance level and quality deviations in conjunction with the Quality department.
  • Collaboration with the Production Coordinator to set co-manufacturers weekly production expectations and work towards further streamlining of manufactured functional blends through the allocation of production throughout the third-party network.
  • Collaboration with the Logistics Manager to further develop import/export processes and expectations.
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including the collaboration with our Quality department to resolve problems and complaints.
  • Work closely with the executive team to set and/or implement policies, processes and systems and follow through with implementation.
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.
  • Work closely with the Production Coordinator, accounting and procurement team to perform analysis of our inventory to ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively and maintaining proper inventory data.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical content, or vital business information
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proven experience leading and directing individuals towards a common goal
  • Ability to communicate effectively in diverse scenarios to include…

  • Prior experience within the food industry with a focus on B2B
