Job Description

The Early Learning Institute (teli)is a nonprofit provider of Early Intervention Services with over 60 years ofexperience helping children with developmental delays reach their truepotential. teli provides therapeutic Early Intervention for children birth toage three.Teli is an affiliate of The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh.

teliis seeking a Fee for Service Early Intervention Education/Developmental Specialist to provide services inthe Allegheny County area and to partner with parents and caregivers.

Asa Developmental Specialist you will provide EI services utilizing the HomeBased Coaching Model as endorsed by the State and mandated by Allegheny Countyto meet the IFSP goals for Early Intervention. Must be comfortable providing EIservices in a home environment with the parents and children while maintainingconfidentiality. Travel required. EI provides flexibility in work schedules.

1.Scheduleappointments that meet the IFSP guidelines and maximizes productivity.

2.Completeall necessary documentation for caseload management, including but not limitedto: progress notes, billing sheets, data collection, travel, and attendancerecords.

3.Facilitateappropriate interactions with families, peers and other agency professionals inorder to provide a cohesive therapeutic plan for children.

4.Maintaina working knowledge of current practices within the profession such asassessment tools and therapy approaches, to provide appropriate interventionstrategies for children and families.


Bachelor'sDegree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood Special Education, EarlyChildhood Education, Child Development, Special Education or Family Studies isrequired. One year of full time or full time equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families is required. Must have a valid PA driver's license and areliable transportation. Basic knowledgeof Microsoft word/excel software. Excellent interpersonal, coaching,organization, verbal and written communication skills required.
