Assistant Director, Community Programs and Outreach
The Department of Health Promotion at the University of Georgia is hiring for an Assistant Director of Community Programs and Outreach.
This position conducts outreach and training with program partners including colleges, high schools and community agencies; builds and maintains effective relationships with community partners; advocates on behalf of off-campus students and integrates their needs into all levels
of program planning, policy development and outreach; participates in campus and community projects, coalitions and task forces; supervises health educators/program coordinators, and professional staff. Some limited travel will be required within the State of Georgia.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Public Health, Counseling, or related field.
Minimum Prior Work experience: Five years of experience in any relevant occupation. Experience should include: facilitating education, training sessions, presentations. Preferred qualifications include experience supervising professional staff and graduate students and/or interns; knowledge and skill in adolescent and emerging human adult development and program development; certified health education specialist (CHEF) and/or certified public health (CPH), certified wellness coach or eligible and intent to become certified. The ability to work effectively and compassionately with individuals who may have experienced interpersonal violence; experience in staff development and supervision. Experience working with athletes and other high-risk populations. The successful candidate must be proficient in oral and written communication skills, public speaking, and leading group discussions.
