DESCRIPTION of responsibilities: * Recruit new foster care homes by attending events, taking phone calls, talking with referrals, and/or presenting speeches to raise awareness of the benefits of being a foster care home and the need for foster parents * Evaluate potential foster parents and coordinate licensing and compliance with DCFS Rule and Procedures 402 for eligible applicants * Assist relative or fictive foster parents with DCFS licensure * Complete home studies and provide foster parents with individual and group trainings * Monitor and supervise foster care homes to ensure understanding of and compliance with strength based, family centered, trauma informed, culturally sensitive foster parenting * Complete license investigations * Assist in finding the most appropriate foster home for a youth in care * Support foster parents through support groups and foster parent advisory boards to create foster parent networks and community awareness * Arrange respite for foster parents as needed.
