Maintenance Mechanic

Containers Unlimited division of The Cary Company is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to support our IBC & Drum Reconditioning facility in Oakland, CA. This role will lead maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of our Equipment/Production Line, as well as other equipment at the facility including our grinder. This role will be responsible for product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment at our 32,000 sq ft facility.
Facility Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (approximately 15-20 employees)
Qualifications and Skills
- Read and write routine reports and correspondence
- Perform repairs to the building and equipment as needed including preventive maintenance of all equipment and machinery.
- Apply mechanical expertise for producing quality product
- Follow safety and regulatory rules and procedures
- Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on equipment as needed.
- Maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
- Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment as needed
- Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
- Assist in helping with various day to day labor tasks to help keep the busy running (loading trucks, helping on the production line, etc.)
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred
