Job Overview

Our team is growing and hiring for various levels of Default Loan Servicing Specialist I-IV. The default team is responsible for performing a variety of default loan servicing tasks within timelines and workflow processes on files. These processes should be managed in accordance with established work rules, goals & objectives to improve timeline and attorney performance. You are expected to establish/maintain a culture of team collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

Hats You Will Wear

  • Responsible for servicing mortgage accounts to ensure all Default activities are processed in compliance with all state and federal laws while maintaining compliance with Investor, Insurer, Agency and company guidelines.
  • Conducts a complete review of files to ensure all default timeframes have been met to include underwriting, if applicable
  • Manages default proceedings on assigned cases by interacting and instructing various parties such as mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, appraisers and any other party involved with default
  • Monitors activities by reviewing all proceedings, records and timeframes in addition to working all system/database activities throughout the default process
  • Diligently follows up on all outstanding requests and telephone calls from internal and external partners
  • Audits accounts for expense compliance and ensures proper application to system of record
  • Performs required research on any loan with questionable items such as the application of payments, proper notification, and any other situation that may arise

  • Manages exception reporting used as key controls for minimizing risk
  • Follow departmental and business policies with strict adherence
  • Prioritize allocated work to ensure timely and accurate resolution to both external and internal partners

Experience Needed

  • 1 to 4+ years of Default Servicing experience (remember we are hiring for various levels)
  • People interaction experience
  • An extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
  • Able to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practice
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including ability to effectively coach, motivate, and lead staff.

Qualifying Factors

  • GSE and Government experience preferred
  • MSP, BITB and LoanSphere experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic computer software programs to include Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet and Microsoft Outlook experience preferred
