Job Description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking an experienced, visionary, and strategic leader, who will execute board approved strategies for our Residential Services Program. This newly created role will be challenged to determine tactical ways to expand and grow the residential services programs, effectively explore acquisitions/merger opportunities, and develop strategic management agreements with like providers.

The Vice President Residential Services will lead a team of professionals to advance our trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral care practices. Our ideal candidate will use their knowledge of social determinants of health, care management & coordination to improve outcomes for the children, youth, and families we serve. This leader will oversee the residential treatment program, client admissions protocols, client acuity, and length of stay to meet the ever-changing legislative and insurance standard-of-care protocols. In tandem with the above, the residential treatment program must be managed in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including the Family First Prevention Services Act.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Determine tactical ways to expand and grow the residential services program, effectively explore acquisitions/merger opportunities, and develop strategic management agreements with like providers.
  • Effectively develop short- and long-range goals to meet the strategic objectives of the organization. Focus on strategic priorities; leverages industry expertise and best practice research to develop and align practical plans; has good awareness and understanding of competitive markets, service differentiators, and key business drivers.
  • Maintain flexibility to adapt priorities based on changing business needs.
  • Consistently evaluate program models and industry best practices. Suggest innovative plans, processes, and program changes to improve program functions and address program challenges.
  • Has solid understanding of community resources and builds, promotes and maintains strong working relationships with strategically identified partners at the local, state, and national level.
  • Lead the Residential Treatment leadership team responsible for day-to-day operations.
  • Clearly define performance standards at all levels of the program, as well as monitoring performance, and implementation of consequences to ensure personal accountability.
  • Promote a culture of high employee engagement and teamwork that advances trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral care practices.
  • Is a champion of The Buckeye Ranch’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure appropriate training of all Residential staff on the skills, experience, and professional development needed to provide of quality services to residents and families. Ensure that the curriculum is followed through and reinforced in the day-to-day operations, and all staff are held accountable to the standards set.
  • Lead the Residential Treatment leadership team responsible for day-to-day operations.

  • Diversify funding sources to expand treatment to children stepping down from higher levels of care or to avoid such placements.
  • Budget preparation is well planned, ensuring financial soundness with a focus on increasing income and minimizing expenses while enhancing quality.
  • Assure sustainability and growth is met through meeting and/or exceeding budget targets.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master's Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 10-15 years management experience in a residential treatment or similar programming
  • Certificates & Licenses: LISW preferred

The Residential Campus at The Buckeye Ranch was founded in 1961 and has expanded our home environment to nine residential houses with 93-beds and 200 employees. The Residential Campus, a division of The Buckeye Ranch, offers behavioral health and child welfare programs across a wide continuum of care. We proudly serve over 5,000 children and families annually, with a strong foundation in family centered, trauma-informed care.
