Summary:  Compiles data and prepares invoices and bills by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·        Responsible for the preparation of billings for group accounts, including logging, data entry, photocopying and mailing.

·        Reviews all group accounts for accuracy and completeness.

·        Verifies that correct billing information is received and credit has been approved prior to processing.

·        Assists guest or group coordinator with guest inquiries and disputes and resolves them in a timely manner.

·        Attends pre-conference meetings when necessary.

·        Meets with clients at their request to review their bill.

·        Researches and submits adjustment amounts and notifies manager of any matters requiring additional assistance.

·        Coordinates and gathers all back up for billing general accounts and catered functions.

·        Ensures billing meets with client’s specifications.

·        Serves as the tax-exempt expert resolving all matters related to tax exemption.

·        Prepares monthly statements for mailing.

·        Other tasks as assigned by the Convention Billing Manager and Credit Manager.

Education/Experience:

Associates degree (AA) from two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

Word processing, Spreadsheets, Accounting software, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
