POSITION SUMMARYThe Chief of Dentistry improves the health status of our market’s medically underserved population by providing superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service and care in dentistry at BHA. It is the Chief of Dentistry’s responsibility to expand our currently robust dental program offerings in conjunction with our integrated Primary Care Medical Home Model.
GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Graduate of an accredited Dental School.
- Successful completion of an accredited Residency.
- Current Florida Dentist license in good standing.
- Five to seven years of clinical dental experience.
- Experience in an FQHC setting preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in providing direct evaluation, treatment and consultation services.
- 3 plus years of working experience in a director or management role in Dentistry.
- Clear and active Florida License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills required for community relationship building
- Knowledge of federal or state regulations or laws impacting Dental services and the corresponding program development
- Communicates effectively in writing, including the preparation of administrative, technical and statistical reports
- Knowledge of methods and principles of planning, developing, implementing and coordinating Dentistry programs
- Proficiency in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record software
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the management and projected growth of Dentistry Services across BHA in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
- Plan, organize, direct, and review Dentistry programs and services in compliance with the Standards for AAAHC, NCQA, HRSA and other regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Provides professional oversight for all Dental practitioners assigned at clinical location of practice.
- Serves in rotation for after-hours on-call system.
- Develop new strategies, services, and programs based on community needs
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, providers and staff on difficult cases to plan and coordinate treatment.
- Collaborate with CMO (Chief Medical Officer) for the development of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures for delivery of dentistry services in accordance with the most up to date accreditation or nationally recognized standards
- Participate in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts and responsibilities for executing improvement strategies toward identified issues
- Serve on other leadership committees as directed by CEO and CMO
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Takes ownership and represents Brevard Health Alliance’s mission and organizational goals established by the executive committee. These include, but are not limited to: Productivity, Quality, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Retention. It is the duty of each BHA employee to incorporate these goals into all daily work routines and strive to achieve and surpass all goals by working as a team. The mission and goals of BHA will be incorporated into each associate’s Key Performance Indicators and will be evaluated on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Aligns with other team members in developing a value-based service model to best serve BHA patients
- Plan, direct, or coordinate operational activities at the highest level of management with the help of subordinate executives and/or managers
- Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of organizations or businesses to ensure continuing operations or to increase productivity
- Preside over or serve on Boards of Directors, management committees, or other governing boards
- Approves policies and offer planning recommendations to the BOD
