In-Space Vehicles Engineering, located in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an experienced (level 4) , highly skilled, and motivated Battery IPT (Integrated Product Team) Leader . Candidate will lead a cross-discipline team in Battery program execution. The responsibilities include delivering on all cost and schedule program commitments, technical performance/management of battery products through delivery, and managing risk and opportunities. As part of Space & Missile Systems, In-Space Vehicles Engineering, based in Los Angeles, CA, manages the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions. This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.) Primary job duties : Lead interface for The Boeing Company, working with supplier, customer and end-user communities. Primary responsibility, authority and accountability (RAA) for Battery IPT execution and battle rhythm including earned value, technical performance metrics reporting, cost account management, and communications/briefing to program/functional leadership - highlighting project managing program cost, schedule, risk/mitigation, and technical performance while providing timely affordable, lean, root cause/corrective action-based solutions. Ensure preparation of the master plan and schedule, such as Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule [IMP/IMS] through coordination and conflict resolution with other Boeing teams, functions, and organizations, as well as customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Verify all deliverables and statement of work items for complex projects are completed by comparing finished products, services, and other deliverables to statement of work and other contractual requirements. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned. Drive timely closure of technical issues and anomalies to meet program requirements. Ensure Battery designs comply with program requirements. Ensure Battery design, manufacturing, and test processes are constructed to produce first time quality of builds. Support, establish, and improve technical standards and processes. Chair key design reviews and lead critical Root-Cause/Corrective Action investigation teams. Convene and chair Independent Review Teams (IRT's). Evaluate and champion new technology and methods. Provide engaging leadership and mentoring that fosters a culture of timely communication of potential issues and help needed to Program Management and Engineering Capabilities Management to quickly resolve issues and threats to performance. Manage Work-In-Progress (WIP), traveled work, open paper and adherence to checklist processes across the IPT consistent with enterprise objectives, as well as Engineering Capabilities and Program expectations to avoid undue delays, rework and late risk mitigation. Typical Education/Experience : Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
