POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for preservation of condition and functionality of the building with a focus on maintaining & repairing finishes, mechanical troubleshooting, kitchen equipment repair, electrical, and plumbing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the troubleshooting of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Complete weekly facility inspections including audit of night cleaning crew
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Technical School Training with a certificate in Building Maintenance Technology or relevant field preferred.
Other Qualifications
Proven experience as maintenance technician including a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and other building systems. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods including a working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices. Demonstrated experience with manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail is requisite. Experience repairing cooking equipment is a plus.
