Executive Director Manager for Public Relations

AGLP: The Association of LGBTQ+ Psychiatrists, ( is a national non-profit organization dedicated to advance LGBTQ+ mental health. We are looking for an Executive Manager for public relations. The Executive Manager for public relations will be one of the face of the organization. The successful candidate will administer our social media accounts and edit AGLP’s quarterly newsletter.


AGLP is the leading professional organization advocating for LGBTQ+ mental health, consisting of psychiatrists, trainees and allied clinical professionals.  Our organization provides LGBTQ+ mental health educational activities and facilitates advocacy efforts, both to a broad audience and within the profession of psychiatry.  The Executive Manager for Public Relations will work closely with AGLP’s social media committee; therefore, you should be knowledgeable of social media trends and able to advise the social media committee on public relations matters.

In this position, you are expected to have and maintain up-to-date knowledge of photo and video editing software, social media apps, and design tools.  Your duties will include overseeing social media platform design, managing posts, and responding to followers.  You are required to have the analytical and proofreading skills necessary to edit articles and format a quarterly newsletter.


·       Public relations and communicating skills

·       Knowledge of Google analytics and search engine organization

·       Copyrighting skills and content management

·       Produce creative content include image and video

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Proofreading skills

While you are not expected to have comprehensive knowledge of LGBTQ+ mental health, you should be fervent about LGBTQ+ issues and reflect AGLP’s values.  AGLP members and the board will provide scientific information and guidance on an ad hoc basis, and you should be able to translate and express our association’s views creatively through the production of original content.  We will consider LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ candidates.  This is a part-time position, and pay is negotiable.  Experience is valued, but entry-level candidates are also welcome to apply.
