Position Overview
The Senior Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis is an integral position of leadership in the company's financial management and will work closely with the Executive Team and other senior leaders to execute The Arena Group's continued high growth strategy. This role will lead the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function, which plays a key role in the company's financial planning, financial reporting, long-range forecasting, and budgeting functions, as well as other special projects, and also oversee the accounting/compliance functions of the business.
The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $180,000 - $300,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent monthly, quarterly, and annual communication of results, forecasts and action plans to BOD, executive management, department heads, and investors
- Lead the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes, including assisting in the development of corporate targets and gaining alignment with the Executive Team. The process involves building for each business unit in conjunction with GMs and leaders of centers of excellence. Includes detailed traffic/pricing models and detail by vendor, headcount, and each line of revenue and expense.
- Manage the company P&L to ensure we meet and achieve external reporting guidance metrics and ensure leadership has visibility into risks and opportunities
- Lead process to develop and publish standard reporting packages for the various levels of management reporting
- Identify and monitor significant business trends and variances to plan in revenue, expenses, headcount, capital, balance sheet and cash flow items. Alert senior leadership to issues and provide proactive and insightful observations and suggestions for improvement
- Complete special and ad-hoc projects as requested to support business needs.
- Provide leadership and is responsible for finance team staff development, recruitment and retention, training, evaluation, mentoring and coaching
- Overseeing all functions of financial planning & analysis, reporting to CFO
- Assist in monthly close of financials and update internal reporting model. Review monthly results with each GM, leader of COE and executives
- Oversee M&A modeling, including P&L, balance sheet and traffic models, and participate in the evaluation and diligence process
- Maintain, upgrade and enhance company KPI traffic and pricing model. Run updates multiple times per week and work closely with analysts and operating teams to identify issues and opportunities that will drive key decisions
- Review significant new contracts to evaluate key terms, risks and upside and be prepared to support argument
- Participate in meeting with sales, business development, product development and each of the business units to provide feedback and keep abreast of changes
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive corporate finance, FP&A, or operating finance experience, with a minimum of 10 years of management/leadership experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, working environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or other quantitative field; advanced degree such as Masters degree in business or mathematics preferred
- Proven track record of creative problem solving and change management
- Strong leading, coaching, analytic, and influencing skills
- Able to manage and motivate a staff of financial professionals and to guide analysis of complex issues (including collection and synthesis of internal and external data)
- Proven history of working with and effectively influencing executive management
- Experience as a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves, player-coach with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, and peers alike
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive attitude, coupled with flawless execution skills
- Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Candidates should have a deep understanding of accounting and be highly skilled in modeling
- Experience working in digital media industry-centric organizations (or ancillary industries) is preferred
