Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

 Oversees and directs day to day activities to ensure efficient operation of policing contract work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for ensuring that the supported worker’s rights and dignity are protected and that they have maximum opportunities to fully participate as a member of the Landscape Department.
  2. Schedule crews for state and private customer custodial duties.  Assign supported workers for appropriate placement on crews.
  3. Assist with hiring and provide Landscape Department orientation for new staff.
  4. Develop and implement training for staff and workers, including in-field training, refinement and implementation of best practices.
  5. Ensure that staff and workers are properly supervised, and equipped to provide superior custodial services for all customers. 
  6. At least 50% of work hours to be spent in the field inspecting contract sites (where all work occurs) for quality assurance, meeting with crews and developing relationships with customers to insure excellent outcome. 
  7. Interface with ESAs and other support staff to insure that supported workers have whatever support necessary to be successful employees.
  8. Monitor or complete all required documentation required of staff including but not limited to: monthly reports, attendance, work orders, vehicle reports and incident reports.
  9. Perform staff evaluations annually, and continually provide performance feedback to staff throughout the year.
  10. Manage electronic time keeping via Kronos, for employees, ensuring accurate payroll submission.
  11. Maintain attendance database for supported workers, accurately and in a timely fashion.
  12. As necessary, assist with estimating new contract work.      
  13. Complete all agency required trainings for position.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Associate’s Degree and 5 years experience in the Custodial/Policing field.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Experience may be substituted for education. 
  • Supervisory and administrative experience required.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Must be independent and self-directed. 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skill required.   
  • Must be competent using Microsoft Office.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Hours are typically 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, although flexibility is required (IE: working one weekend per month and taking off during the week).
  • Some limited snow removal duty may be required.
  • Working outdoors in all conditions is required.
  • Valid Maryland driver’s license required and clean driving record is necessary.
