Summary: The Outside Crew Leader is responsible for the effective leadership and execution of various work projects throughout the community. A daytime and an evening position are available. Serve as a driver and supervisor for a small crew (2 to 5) of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Lead the crew throughout their day including teaching vocational and life skills. Facilitate the development of positive, successful relationships with customers, clients, and volunteers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Drive passengers to work locationTeach required vocational skills to individuals with IDDEnsure the quality of the work performed by the crewProvide excellent customer serviceFacilitate donor and customer relationshipsProvide real time status updates of progress and arrival timesProvide facility and equipment maintenance/cleaningCoordinate other duties and special projects as assigned by the Program Development Director.Operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack) and perform basic warehouse functions.Qualifications:Leadership experience with IDD population and in a customer service oriented environment a plus.Experience transporting passengers and operating a variety of vehicles (small bus, pickup, cargo van). Ability to operate standard transmission vehicle a plus.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and repeatedly carry 50 lbs throughout the dayExperience/comfortable working in a non-climate controlled atmosphereSelf-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic. Organized with attention to safety and detailAbility to handle and defuse challenging situations with tact.Knowledge of mobile fleet wash, janitorial, construction and deconstruction means, methods, techniques and materials is a plus.Preference will be given to applicants with a disability.Must have a good driving record.
