Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of Aquarium marketing/advertising campaigns and plans.

  • Provide social media support, as needed.

  • Act as a liaison with media, as needed.

  • Coordinate staff and animal media appearances following proper aquarium procedures.

  • Act as advertising traffic manager, insuring all advertising is prepared and delivered to appropriate vendors on a timely basis

  • Work in collaboration with other clients, vendors, and production staff to produce a variety of video projects and graphics for broadcasting, DVD distribution, webcasting, and video streaming; plans and directs assigned studio productions; operates character generation and digital video effects software, edit controllers, cameras, hard disk video recorders, video distribution switchers, and audio mixing software.

  • Adjust lighting equipment and audio equipment including assorted lavalier, cardiod and shotgun microphones; works with clients to prepare “B-roll” footage for inclusion in live productions; provides limited troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment; performs routine equipment maintenance; makes recommendations to department for software and equipment purchases.

  • In cooperation with other staff, coordinates pre-production and production planning activities; conducts field-based video production which involves interacting with clients, vendors, and operating all portable video and audio equipment; transports and sets up lighting and audio equipment as required; provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment.

  • Plan and perform video post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Adobe Premiere Pro software; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses video projects for output; makes video products available in a variety of formats; coordinates internal and external duplication services as required.

  • Act as Aquarium website administrator, including creating designs looks for website pages, making content changes/additions to website and needed/requested, and working with web host to solve any problems and on any redesign issues.

  • Graphic design work for collateral including ads, flyers, website, email marketing, etc.

  • Plan and coordinate on-site and offsite public marketing days and opportunities.

  • Review and analysis of website and public relations including reports and recommendations for optimizing website and social media efforts

Requirements: A four year degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field or two to five years of related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also meet the required qualifications.
