JOB SUMMARY

The Communications and Brand Manager is responsible for messaging and content creation related to marketing, community events, brand and reputation management and public relations. This position leads content strategy and development, graphic design, the content review process, public relations and community relationships.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Marketing Manager to develop integrated marketing and communications strategies that advance the customer acquisition journey, enhance the corporate brand and support corporate business objectives.
  2. Partner with the Marketing Manager to develop, maintain and disseminate a comprehensive content calendar designed to meet corporate business objectives, advance customers through the buyer journey, and engender loyalty among current customers.
  3. Responsible for the planning and production of visual and verbal marketing content to advance the company business goals, including email, sales collateral, presentations, newsletters, blogs, digital advertising, website copy and design, social media, radio and media relations.
  4. Lead the content review process to ensure timely and accurate brand & content review.
  5. Manage local and trade media relationships and serve as a corporate spokesperson when needed.
  6. Participate in the crisis communication team.
  7. Be responsible for message development and coordination with public relations vendors.
  8. Partner with the Marketing Manager to lead the strategic direction of tradeshows, events and community outreach programs from conception to implementation.
  9. Manage agency relationships related to copy writing, content creation, graphic design and public relations to keep projects on-time, on-budget and aligned with company business goals.
  10. Lead the development of an outreach plan and publicity strategy for the company's signature education program, including bringing awareness to the local community leaders to market the program to districts and cities.
  11. Maintain strong communication with leadership, sales, operations and customer care teams to encourage feedback on campaigns to improve quality and quantity of leads.
  12. Create and execute customer retention strategies and initiatives by leading cross department collaboration.
  13. Coordinate sponsorship and contribution opportunities.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related degree
  • At least three years of marketing or communications experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to create compelling stories and messaging that drives action
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite - i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must pay close attention to detail and demonstrate leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be available after hours and on weekends for events

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid Class C driver's license
  • Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on a current motor vehicle report (MVR), with no serious accidents or traffic violations
