The School of Engineering at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (9-month faculty; tenure-track) in Petroleum Engineering to begin Fall 2020. Primary duties include: (1) teaching undergraduate courses in engineering, (2) advising students and, (3) serving on department, college, and university committees. A reduced teaching load (2 courses per semester) is provided to allow for research/grant and publication activities.
The successful candidate is required to hold a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering. We desire candidates with a strong background in Drilling Engineering. ABDs will be considered, but the Ph.D. must be awarded before the positions' start date. We also desire candidates who: demonstrate strong research skills, have a strong record of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals (commensurate with experience), have the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/ or securing external grant funding, work with diverse student populations, and have the ability to teach in areas that complement or strengthen our undergraduate program.
