General Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for providing continuous strategic leadership and guidance, and full accountability for all matters relating to the financial operations of Tetherow Resort. The person in this role provides accurate and timely financial reporting/information to owners and leadership, maintains acceptable internal control procedures designed to safeguard owner/investor assets; maximizes profitability; and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. The Director of Finance exemplifies Tetherows brand and sets an example for effective leadership. Primary Position Responsibilities: Directs and administers all financial operations of the resort Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Serves as financial advisor to resort management and ownership Coordinates, projects and prepares budgets, forecasts, profit programming, profit and cost analyses Assist/counsel leadership and department heads in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability As a member of the executive leadership team, participates in strategic planning and key decision making and execution Works with all departments of the resort directly or indirectly pertaining to expenses and finances Ensures all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured, and that all statutory and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, including governmental requirements for permits and licenses In partnership with external technology consultants, oversees the management of technical/IT infrastructure operations, developing and ensuring the effective execution of technology strategy for the resort property Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the resorts assets against loss or misappropriation Manages the check-and-balance, supervision and control of all purchases, disbursements, payroll and expenses of the resort Provides studies, projects and reports requested and/or required by ownership and/or leadership Maintains a basic knowledge of all local laws pertaining to resort operations Maintains and keeps up-to-date all tenant leases, contracts, licenses, permits, insurance and mortgage documents and ascertains compliance therewith Supervises and works with the Controller in minimizing overdue balances and losses arising from delinquent accounts and to minimize losses arising from uncollected guests and county ledger accounts; attends and actively participates in credit meetings Supervises the preparation and timely submission of all required tax returns and other reports to government authorities and owning companies in accordance with regulations and contractual agreements Seeks advice and guidance from local counsel, external auditors, local officials and others as deemed necessary Manages multiple deadlines, priorities and interruptions, adapting quickly and effectively to changing business needs Effectively partners with all functional leaders, and their teams Remains abreast of industry trends Understands your role in, and contributes to the achievement of specified team, department and resort wide goals PI142693343
