Job Description

Full-Time ProtoTrak Machinist - Bridgeport (First Shift)

Our company, based in Sterling Heights, MI, is looking for an experienced, full-time Bridgeport ProtoTrak Machinist. The work schedule for this position includes standard flex days that are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays as needed. However, the Bridgeport ProtoTrak Machinist is expected to dedicate the time required to meet the company’s strategic plan.

$22 hourly


The individual in this position is responsible for the set-up and operation of manual Bridgeports for the production of components. The Machinist will evaluate the drawings of the parts in order to decide the required tools and machining sequence and confirm that items meet specs by means of documentation. Additionally, the Bridgeport ProtoTrak Machinist will guarantee a secure, orderly, and clean workspace.

  • Performs all assigned machine shop operations
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, and tapping tasks
  • Performs inspection of machined products, and document results
  • Completes and maintains paperwork for parts
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • ProtoTrak KMY2 Retrofit Machinist with 5 years experience
  • A high school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school preferred
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • May be required to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
