Job Summary:

The Master Production Scheduler position is responsible for all Master Production Scheduling (MPS) associated with the primary product line - Water / Waste Water (W/WW) Controls Products.  This position will take a lead role in the development and refinement of MPS tools and methodology, creation of schedule commitments for all projects upon Release-to-Production (RTP), management of MPS changes associated with production and Supply Chain constraints, and the monitoring of cycle times and on-time performance related to this product line schedule. This position will also take the lead role for the company to drive the company into an ERP readiness state, enabling transition into an ERP-based MPS capability. You will be performing these functions out of our North America headquarters in Sacramento, CA, but will also interface with sister facilities in Irving, TX and Brea, CA related to the W/WW product line.

The Master Production Scheduling role is critical to the scheduling and prioritization of Sales Order backlog and the coordination of all resources associated with order fulfillment for the product line. This person will work to establish scheduling to maximize production flow in the Final Assembly and Test functions while balancing sales and commercial needs of our customers, factory and Supply Chain capacity and constraints, and financial investment in inventory positions to improve product flow.

This role is a highly hands on, detailed planning role that demands high level of Supply Chain planning expertise and production scheduling experience.

Requirements

    

Functions:

Develop detailed understanding of all operational steps in the W/WW production process, including cycle times, subassembly pre-requisites, and Final Assembly and Test complexity for each W/WW project

Review each W/WW project at Release-to-Production (RTP) and establish the baseline project schedule through Manufacturing - from subassembly start to shipment of the final product

Coordinate alignment of the Manufacturing MPS with the Applications Engineering team that is focused on the software and infrastructure components of the project - SCADA, PLC, and Networking & Telemetry

Achieve consensus for optimal production schedule by sequencing customer commitments, verifying production readiness (e.g. material availability), validating alignment with software and infrastructure engineering functions, and confirming completion of subassembly manufacturing prior to launching Final Assembly and Test for each customer project

Facilitate and manage all Manufacturing team interactions and achieve consensus on the consolidated Master Production Schedule for the W/WW product line

Take a lead role in monthly SIOP meetings with Sales, Operations, and Finance to propose, review and sign off on a consolidated Master Production Schedule (MPS) with the objective to stabilize factory requirements and maximize production flow and use of factory capacity

Implement and manage all relevant Supply Chain performance metrics to monitor MPS performance (scheduled vs. actual), planned vs. actual cycle times, on-time performance (to critical milestones), and Sales Order backlog reduction


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree required, engineering, business or related field preferred. 

At least 5 years of experience in master scheduling and materials planning, with a preference towards experience with project-based engineer-to-order or make-to-order manufacturing 

Demonstrated proficiency in production scheduling with an understanding of key variables for maximizing production flow and related Supply Chain, financial and operational impacts

Understanding of complex production scheduling with inter-departmental constraints within product Manufacturing as well as cross-functional constraints related to custom software development associate with the product 

This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills with the ability to extract, compile, and analyze large volumes of data on a regular basis

Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business impacted by the Master Production Scheduling processes 

Good facilitation skills are required to orchestrate cross-departmental and cross-functional collaboration and mitigation of associated conflicts and risks

Knowledge of SIOP, MPS, MRP and ERP software functionality as related to Supply Chain planning and scheduling is preferred

Strong computer related skills, including advanced Windows and Microsoft Office Suite capabilities

APICS CPIM or other production and inventory planning certification preferred

Pay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location. We may pay more or less than the range based on the person's qualifications. In good faith we believe the range is what we will pay for this role at the time of the posting and may change in the future.
