Sales Coordinator

Performs standard activities under general supervision involving sales support, administrative and clerical tasks
1. Sales Support
a. Maintains customer correspondence and sales order files,
b. Prepare sales personnel meeting and travel schedules,
c. Retrieves file information, compiles data and produces reports as directed by sales and marketing staff,
d. Processes departmental documents,
e. Reviews orders for correct price, part number and description,
f. Responds directly to customer requests for literature and documents,
g. Prepares trade show exhibit material for shipment and coordinates shipment details with shipping personnel,
h. Prepares routine responses to requests for quotation following specific sales department guidance regarding standard price and delivery terms.
i. Developing a strong knowledge base about company’s products,
j. Developing meaningful relationships with new customers and deepening relationships with existing ones,
Although these sales are conducted inside and not out in the field, this is not a telemarketing or customer service position. Candidates should be able to negotiate profitable deals, manage margin expectations and sell complex customer solutions over the phone.
2. Requirements:
a. Min. 3 – 5 years account management experience,
b. Background in high-technology product sales required,
c. Candidates must be able to function productively within a fast-paced, multi-tasking, entrepreneurial environment,
d. Ability to present multiple product lines,
e. Excellent communication and organizational skills,
f. Computer proficiency especially in MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook,
Work is generally of a confidential nature requiring a broad knowledge of company practices, policies, and product lines. Position requires intermediate level reading, writing, mathematics and communications skills as would normally be obtained by high school graduation or equivalent. Typically uses word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics and publishing software. Additional experience involving customer contact in pre-sales support and after-sales customer service functional areas is desirable. Related product knowledge is desirable.
Additional duties may include making quotes, gathering and reporting marketing statistics and intelligence for sales personnel.
