Learn more at Overview Terviva is seeking an experienced, results-oriented manufacturing leader with strong leadership and safety experience and the proven ability to drive organizational achievement as our Plant Manager in the New Orleans area.

In addition to managing our plant in the New Orleans area, the Plant Manager will lead all Terviva manufacturing activities in North America. The position will require strong leadership and team building and development skills, as well as project management, communication, and presentation skills. The position will report directly to the VP of Products and Processing and will partner with the raw materials Supply Chain, R&D, Commercial, Quality, and Engineering teams to safely supply quality products to our Terviva customers.

The candidate must have a solid and demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing concepts in food ingredients, mainly in the vegetable oil industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of production equipment for processing unit operations, in particular a deep expertise in vegetable oil processing. The candidate must also possess a good understanding of regulatory requirements of a food production facility as it relates to Process and Occupational Safety, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

The candidate should have demonstrable and verifiable experience in building a high performing manufacturing team. Job Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of the Terviva edible oil facility. Hire and manage all site staff; and establish programs for training and establishing the foundation of a high performing manufacturing team. Lead the SHE program, and all Process Safety (24 CFR 1910.119) and Occupational Safety efforts towards a zero injury culture. Lead the quality effort towards and meet customer demands, on spec, on time. Financial reporting and adherence to budget requirements and COG’s. Comprehensive knowledge and integration of plant level KPIs on safety, quality, efficiency, throughput. Lead the overall asset management, maintenance, and reliability programs. Lead the continuous improvement efforts throughout his/her organization. Lead waste elimination efforts. Responsible for the quality effort and all site-specific aspects of the Terviva Food Safety program. Collaborate with all Terviva sites and departments. Lead competence development in the field of expertise through training and/or mentoring. Share knowledge and create networks with other communities of experts internally and externally. Skills, Competencies & Experience Proven experience in the operation of vegetable oil processing, especially solvent extraction food ingredient manufacturing facilities. Proven and demonstrable experience in Process Safety and the implementation of Process Safety programs. Experience in asset management and reliability programs, MRO. Adept at engaging with all levels of the organization from shop floor to corporate leadership. A minimum of 10 years of related experience in the ingredient or food industries.

A substantial portion of the food industry experience must have been with processing unit operation specification and/or plant startup and operations. Excellent Team Leadership and organizational skills and experience, including staff development. Experience managing operating budgets and SAP (or equivalent systems) to integrate with corporate accounting, commercial invoicing, logistics, etc. Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA and GMP systems appropriate to food ingredients. Direct experience with and oversight of hourly staff in the United States and Mexico. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and management skills. Good knowledge of practical engineering principles. Ability to travel up to 25%. Fluency in English and Spanish a plus. Education & Background Engineering degree, Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Food, or Agricultural. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
