Now about you...

The Fuel Systems Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Department of Defense (DoD) Fuels Programs in Honolulu, HI. The Fuel Systems Project Manager will have a minimum of 10 years managerial experience in aviation fuel systems management, aircraft refueling, quality surveillance, mobile refueling, environmental compliance procedures, safety, product inventory and accounting, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)-Energy reporting, and operations and maintenance of fuel distribution systems.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Handle product inventory procedures and reporting responsibilities. Must be familiar with DLA-Energy policy and reporting associated with DoD 4140-25M requirements and experienced in all sampling and gauging requirements IAW FM-1067 and MIL-STD-3004 series.
  • Manage hazardous materials. Must be familiar with the requirements of handling flammable and combustible material at fuel dispensing systems in accordance with NFPA 30, and all other state and federal regulations.
  • Maintenance on fuel distribution system operator. Must be familiar with fuel system component operation and maintenance of filter separators, valves, manifolds, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, transfer lines, nozzles, and all other related components of fuel distribution systems.
  • Provide expert consulting services for maintenance programs and have the ability to verify that maintenance is being performed in accordance with UFC 3-460-03 Maintenance of Petroleum Systems on DoD fuel systems.
  • Aircraft refueling management. Must be familiar with all government aircraft refueling regulations with an emphasis on safety
  • Provide consulting services and write fuel operations orders, fuel systems maintenance operations orders, and provide written responses to government requests for information (RFI) regarding fuel systems operations and maintenance.
  • Assist in technical writing for all new proposals as well as providing input on pricing including the other direct costs of the proposal and review both technical and pricing proposals for accuracy.


What are we looking for?

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, however military experience will be taken into consideration in the evaluation of candidate resumes.
  • Minimum of 10 years managerial experience in aviation fuel systems management, aircraft refueling, quality surveillance, mobile refueling, environmental compliance procedures, safety, product inventory and accounting, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)-Energy reporting, and operations and maintenance of fuel distribution systems.
  • Must meet the security requirements for a DoD issues Common Access Card.
  • Experience in Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Facility Response Plan (FRP) development.
  • Working knowledge of all product inventory procedures and reporting.
  • Working knowledge and thorough experience managing hazardous materials.
  • Experience in aircraft refueling management.
  • Experience in fixed, rotary wing, and wide body refueling operations.
  • Familiarity with commercial standards for jet fuel quality control at airports (ATA Specification 103).
  • Experience in all above ground and underground storage tanks operations and maintenance.
  • Understanding of the operation of automated tank gauge functions and required tank maintenance as required by the government.
  • Must have experience and be able to develop, organize, and deliver fuel operations and maintenance training programs and related materials.
  • Work simultaneously on multiple tasks and projects, independently setting priorities to meet deadlines.
