Tender Loving Empire is looking for an accounting clerk/assistant to join the team in our Portland office. This person will work to support the daily accounting operations of the office. The position is paid hourly & part-time to start, with the possibility of growing into a full-time position. The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and a basic understanding of accounting.

Primary Role Functions:

  • Accounts Payable - Manage bill entry and assist with making & scheduling payments.
  • Liaise with vendors - Act as point person for accounts payable questions.
  • Accounts Receivable - Assist with tracking income from the stores, record label & wholesale revenue streams.
  • Expense Tracking - Review weekly employee expense reports.
  • Organize internal resources - Maintain processes to keep digital and physical files organized and easily accessible.

What we're looking for:
  • 1-2 years experience as an accounting or administrative assistant preferred
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks and Shopify preferred
  • Strong computer skills (our company lives and breathes via Google Docs + Slack)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Strong work ethic (TLE is a fun place to work, but we work hard!)
  • Maintains a positive, team-minded mentality throughout daily interactions and job duties
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
