Temescal Wellness serves Massachusetts with a variety of high-quality cannabis products and education, in compliance with state and local rules and regulations. We have three cannabis dispensaries located throughout the state, each serving both recreational guests and medical card holders as well as a growing production facility with a second state of the art production facility on the way in North Adams, MA. About The Role

As the Senior Director, Production, you will oversee all production functions and facilities for Temescal Wellness including cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, and administration. You will be based in North Adams, MA and lead the Temescal Wellness state-of-the art production facility there and provide managerial oversight of our Worcester facility. You should have a proven track record of developing winning teams, focus on continuous improvement and ability to manage multiple priorities. You should be innovative, energetic, detail-oriented, and ambitious Senior Director of Production to manage a range of responsibilities. We are in growth mode and seeking an experienced self-starter who has demonstrated past success in fast-paced multidisciplinary environments.

Leading By Example

Serve as a member of the management leadership team, holding the facility accountable for adherence to commitments. You will establish and ensure achievement of all unit Key Performance Indicators. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and continuous improvement for all areas of production.

Engaging in Business Planning

Participate in the business planning and budgeting process by developing short and long-term cost containment and production strategies. You’ll oversee the execution of projects within your assigned area by monitoring project plans and status to ensure successful completion.

Focusing on Continuous Improvement

Deploy and sustain efficiency training to help staff meet the demands and challenges of our thriving business. Ensure compliance with all processes, regulations and policies. As you manage and develop a team, you’ll demonstrate your dedication to making our company and its people even more effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and organizational development
  • Ensure effective implementation of product and manufacturing technologies
  • Manage objectives for operating budgets, capital plans, and cost savings targets
  • Champion change through the active personal support of Continuous Improvement tools and processes
  • Drive employee engagement, positive culture, and executes strategic workforce planning initiatives
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, inclusiveness, and open communication within the team
  • Standardize best practices across operational cells
  • Maintain compliance to all regulations, laws, and management systems requirements
  • Proactively reduce Environmental, Health & Safety risks and promotes safe behaviors in the workplace
  • Support the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to meet On Time Delivery and financial targets
  • Ensure successful implementation of new program development activities
  • Integrate tactical & strategic supply chain activities to manage risk and leverage spend
  • Make necessary transformational changes to better support deliveries & cost reductions
  • Coordinates both facility activities with department and value stream leaders to ensure that all production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Responsible for inventory, and production planning processes, as well as establishing supply and capacity plans to meet customer requirements
  • Manages the proper use and maintenance of buildings, premises, machines and tools, including preventive maintenance and repair plans in accordance with production obligations
  • Ensures all migration activities supporting production line transfers and facility stand up according to plan and within budget
  • Annual budget planning and reporting with each department
  • Develop and maintain programs and policies to ensure a highly effective and motivated workforce; evaluate training needs and develop training and development plans to support high-performance teams
  • Identify areas of improvement for increased efficiency, productivity and resource conservation, implement solutions
  • Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage and efficiency
  • Ensure incident, accident, and disciplinary are managed thoughfully and comprehensively including documentation and prevention
  • Prepare Company for increased demand and make appropriate processes, procedures, and hiring to accommodate increase in demand and growth
  • Direct oversight of logistics, shipping, production, purchasing and procurement, sourcing, products and inventory management, managing vendors and suppliers, and quality assurance

  • Operational transformation and project management leadership
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial and operational performance data required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change and accountability in a fast-paced organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large teams across cultural, geographic, business, and functional boundaries
  • Ability to energize and motivate people and to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and lead as a change agent and hold people accountable for high standards of performance
  • Proven track record of creating, implementing and/or sustaining a lean operation within a dynamic environment
  • Experience in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement
  • Superior assessment and influencing skills
  • Self-motivated individual with a dynamic personality and a passion for succeeding;

Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar concentration preferred
  • 5-7 years Operational or Manufacturing experience
  • 3 years professional cannabis experience
  • Strong analytical abilities and track record of data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on, high growth entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a high performing team
  • Ability to track and analyze initiatives and performance to ensure we meet and/or exceed our revenue goals
  • An effective leader with strong execution skills that is entrepreneurial, astute and has a passion for getting into the details where appropriate to make effective decisions and drive results
  • Strong leadership, team member and staff/team development and motivation skills
  • Able to travel, as needed, including weekends where necessary to drive production
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be 21+ years old and pass the State required background check and Agent Registration
  • No felony convictions other than cannabis related
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary of $150,000 and bonus and equity
  • Employer pays approximately 75% of medical, dental and vision insurance, including for family members
