HR Generalist

Summary:
The HR Generalist is a key individual in the human resources function and is responsible for the day-to-day running of HR processes while providing great internal employee support. This position will support teams with a wide variety of HR responsibilities including recruiting, on-boarding and off-boarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and employee engagement. The role is a hands-on participant with business teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with hiring managers and HR TA team on job openings and candidate flow and scheduling, development of job descriptions and planning and conducting interviews to ensure culture fit; participate in full cycle recruiting activities for the business
- Participate in conducting employee onboarding as well as coordinating training initiatives for employees
- Help with the performance management process, including performance reviews and management training
- Coach managers and supervisors, tailoring suggestions as appropriate, and balancing individual and company needs
- Help develop and foster a culture in which employees are engaged, motivated and feel appreciated
- Maintain up to date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements and applicable local, state and federal laws
- May provide HR consulting services in the handling of employee relations issues and conducting investigations, as needed
- Provide timely response and support to employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, leaves, and other HR matters
- Partner with HR team and others to implement and support initiatives that support a positive company culture
- In partnership with HR Ops team, maintain employee records and report on employee data/metrics as requested
- Actively promote and support the Quality Management System, Quality Objectives, and Quality Policy.
- Assure that you and functional subordinates (if applicable) are trained on all applicable procedures and processes according to Good Manufacturing Practices, applicable FDA and Regulatory requirements.
- Actively promote and support the company’s Management Review process.
- Inform responsible personnel of concerns involving product quality.
- Perform job functions in a safe and effective manner.

Background and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in HR/People Practices; experience in a medical device or high-growth environment preferred
- General knowledge of HR practices including recruiting, employee relations, and performance management; familiarity with applicable state and local laws
- Strong organization and communications skills (both written and verbal) required
- Must be able to build trust and respect of employee population
- Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Uses good judgment and makes thoughtful decisions
- Demonstrated ability to respond to and resolve employee issues with a strong customer service orientation
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with limited hands-on supervision, prioritize work and projects, and respond to a changing and dynamic environment
