Title :  Private Cloud Architect  Location :  Charlotte, NC  Duration :  Direct Hire Work Requirements :  Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the US as a W2 employee. Position Description The Director Cloud Engineering provides technical delivery direction and oversight for Container Engineering and Operations teams to architect, design, develop, deploy and sustain solutions that meet business needs while maintaining design integrity and adhering to best practices and information technology, security and compliance policies and procedures. The Director must be experienced with Agile and DevOps practices, as they will also lead teams to high performance delivery using these practices. The Director will be responsible for creation of procedures, implementation of processes, automation and development of staff for managing and maintaining various Public and Private cloud platforms. Experience and knowledge of Containerization platforms and cloud Computing, and hands-on with technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, CRI-O and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform cloud management is essential. The Director will work closely with Management, Technical Engineers, Solution Architects, other Security Engineers to provide solutions for collecting, managing, and analyzing machine data. Own the tactical and strategic life-cycle, direction and innovation of Enterprise log Monitoring and other tools. This role will be accountable for building enterprise-wide strategy, implementation, and operations for end-to-end monitoring of application and infrastructure utilizing and enhancing the currently deployed technologies: Splunk, Solar Winds and integration to other tools including ServiceNow. The Director is responsible for steady state application production support activities including, access management, audits, incident management, change management, event communications, etc. Collaborates closely with technology and business partners to analyze tactical and strategic solutions; uses that information, along with technology strategies to formulate solutions to meet business needs. Provides direction and oversight to Sustain teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions that meet applicable business requirements. Allocates and directs resources to accomplish tasks and maintains control of Change Management process. Responsible for resolving issues, mitigating risks, and escalating issues/risks when appropriate. The employee will work with Business Partners, IT Peers and Vendors to identify operational efficiencies and strategic road-maps in continued refinement of best in class operations. Job Responsibilities ·          Manage Teams in different shifts to support the 24x7 sustain operational support. Strong Communication and Organization skills. ·          Provide transparency to stakeholders and senior management team; manage expectations and communicate effectively with stakeholders. ·          Drive enterprise direction to support and engineer Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) hosting services ( road-maps , vendor relationships, technology selection) ·          Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions. ·          Act as single point of contact for business users for platform availability ·          Possess a strong knowledge of general IT infrastructure, networking, and distributed application architecture. ·          Familiar with event data logging and collection, and general data integration methodologies. ·          Manage large scale Middleware systems. ·          Knowledge of monitoring tools such as; Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), and User Behavior Analytics. ·          Build and evangelize self-service capabilities for our technical community. ·          Via automation, continuously improve configuration and deployments of new technologies and services. ·          Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executives. ·          Work across all functional areas of the company to reproduce and resolve customer issues, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. ·          Maintains accountability for the timely resolution of specific issues and problems within an area, application, database, technology or system. ·          Support Operational reporting and SLA management. ·          Support continuity of business and disaster recovery capabilities. ·          Should be able to support Audit process and support enterprise compliance process. ·          Prepare and conduct effective presentations; assess priorities and self-time manage through deliverables; and coordinate activities with diverse groups and individuals. ·          Consulting/Problem Solving -- ability to work in an advisory capacity to identify key technical and business problems, develop, and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations. ·          Systems Delivery -- extensive experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle. ·          Teamwork: Assist the team(s) to accomplish its goals beyond his/her assigned work. Experience with working with and directing onshore/offshore teams. ·          Knowledge Application: Outlines potential cost/savings outcomes of technology use. Troubleshoots or addresses significant limitations or problems of technology applications. ·          Business Acumen: Understands why we are here, and his/her role meets customer needs and creates value. Understands how we operate and the interactions between departments and customer groups. Set priorities and validate services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner according to our IT policies and standards. ·          Ensure all activities are managed per our IT methodology and processes. ·          Challenge the Status Quo when it does not make sense. ·          Lead application severity incident to quick resolution. ·          Review and approve root cause analysis and preventative action items. ·          Create, review and optimize steady state SLA metrics. ·          Ensure SOX access control and EAC enterprise access control activities executed per policy. ·          Assign workload to team and guide the team in resolving day to day issues. ·          Participate in Discovery Phase to assist with scoping effort for application teams. ·          Direct team to address security vulnerability remediation. ·          Oversee end to end availability of all application and infrastructure components ·          Provide leadership and oversee the planning and execution for all steady state activities. ·          Provide leadership in the strategic vision and benefits of applications and seek continuous infrastructure improvement opportunities. ·          Participate in Discovery Phase to assist with scoping effort for application teams. ·          Security vulnerability Remediation. Qualifications ·          BS and 10 + years or equivalent Capabilities ·          Hands-on with technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Kubernetes, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform cloud management ·          Broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop technical solutions with an executive consultative approach ·          Expert knowledge of Cloud computing, Containerization, Hosting Public and private cloud platforms from both an operation and engineering perspective. ·          Working Knowledge on Security Standards (one-way SSL, mutual Authentication, username token, Transport level security & OAuth). ·          Experience and knowledge of J2EE & Middleware platforms including Weblogic, Oracle Fusion Middleware, JBoss, JBoss Fuse,3Scale, Service Buses. ·          Expert knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to business needs ·          Experience with automation tools such as; Puppet, Chef, Bladelogic, Ansible, Ansible Tower. ·          Expertise with all aspects of the development life cycle and an exposure to various current software development methodology approaches. Experience in incident management, root cause analysis and resolving production application issues with both short term and long-term solutions ·          Ability to utilize technology and project management experience to act as the team's primary interface between IT and the business sectors ·          Ability to negotiate and deliver quality solutions to customers and develop process improvements where applicable ·          Customer Focus -- proven track record of customer satisfaction and delivery success and ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with business and IT stakeholders ·          Self-motivated and willing to learn complexities of system ·           Extensive experience with *NIX/multi-tier applications preferred. Excellent MS Office Suite knowledge, proficient in SQL, knowledge of SOA architecture preferred.
