Job Description

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for leading the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all HR functions at the local facility. He/ she will work closely with senior leadership and partnering HR staff and all levels of operations to implement strategic goals, support staff, and direct all day-to-day tasks within the local HR department. The Human Resources Coordinator answers directly to the VP of HR.

Responsibilities:

  • In cooperation with the Corporate Recruiter, managers and supervisors, facilitates the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process of all new employees
  • Acts as a resource for employment related information to entire TW team
  • Drives and supports consistent and timely performance management for entire location.
  • Coaches and participates in discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Acts as liaison between TW team and Payroll and Benefits Administrator, Training and Development Coordinator, and Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.
  • Works closely with the corporate recruiter, training and development coordinator, HR administrator and VP of HR to assure alignment and drive toward strategic purpose and goals.
  • Leads, plans and organizes engagement activities, being sure to align within budget
  • Participates actively and cooperatively as a pivotal member of the TW team
  • Coordinates with the HR team to assure consistent execution of all HR policies and procedures.
  • Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as compliance and best practices, and recommends needed changes.
  • Proactively strives to improve processes and implement best practices in all department related areas.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in matters of employment, medical and personal information
  • Proactively manages, in cooperation with the VP of HR and the ECG EHS manager, the on the job injury and worker’s compensation process.
  • Participates in the selection and implementation of employee benefits and rewards packages
  • Supports the self-sufficiency of TW employees through training and coaching on employment related topics
  • Works to encourage and promote the implementation of paperless processes
  • Partners with the HR team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • In cooperation with the Training and Development Coordinator, creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Coaches, facilitates and follows up with team building and performance improvement initiatives within departments.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • With VP of HR works to handle complex legal and employment related matters
  • Oversees the safety program and safety committees for TW
  • Actively manages the worker’s compensation process
  • Participates in the selection and administration of employee benefits
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and Pennsylvania employment law.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred but not required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
