TechFlow is looking for an Electrician whose primary responsibilities include; providing electrical services to include repair and/or replacement needs; installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades in the maintenance or repair of equipment for the distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Key Responsibilities: + Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. + Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
+ Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. + Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. + Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
+ Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. + Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. + Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
+ Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. + Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects. + Provide preliminary cost estimates for materials and services.
+ Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. + Advise Electrician Supervisor on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. + Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.
Minimum Requirements: + Must have four (4) years' experience working as an electrician. + Effective oral and written communication skills. + Effective technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
+ Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade. + Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade. + Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs.
+ Must be able to read and understand blueprints as appropriate to trade. + Present professional appearance and demeanor. + Understand and adhere to policies and procedures as set by EMI Services.
+ Promote and maintain a positive image of EMI Services to our customers, vendors, employees, and the community. + Maintain confidentiality of information related to EMI Services, our customers, vendors and employees. + Be adaptable and flexible in work situations.
+ Establish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner. + Continuously strive to accomplish individual and EMI Services goals. + Polite, professional, and courteous to others.
Demonstrate a cooperative and positive attitude. + Inform the Electrician Shop Supervisor of all pertinent problems, irregularities, and other important information within area of responsibility. + Adhere to safety policies and procedures to include proper use of personal protective equipment.
+ Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work. + Ability to use correct English grammar, spelling, and sentence structure in written and verbal communications. + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
+ Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and coworkers. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. + Resourceful and use problem solving, the ability to be alert and precise in a distracting (loud, busy) environment. Desired Skills and Experiences: + Preferred State of Georgia Journeyman Electrician's license.
+ Knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposing of insulating fluid containing polychlorinated biphenyls a PLUS + Certified journeyman preferred. Certificates and Licenses Required: + Valid driver's license is required. Education Requirements: + High School Diploma, GED or equivalent amounts of technical training and experience.
Physical Requirements: + Requires lifting and moving as much as 50 pounds with assistance as needed. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, stand, twist, stoop, reach, squat, and walk. + Performing duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping.
+ May also be required to climb ladders and enter confined spaces. + Electricians may spend long hours outside and in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain. + They may stand for long periods and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds.
+ Electricians risk injury from electrical shock, falls, and cuts; to avoid injuries, they must follow strict safety procedures.
