Position: E-Tech Maintenance
- 3+ years MANUFACTURING maintenance experience
- Food Manufacturing would be ideal
- Must have Programmable Logic Controller Experience (PLC)
- Tech School would be an advantage but not necessary
PLC/Electrical Technician supports the maintenance department. This position is responsible for performing duties to diagnose, repair, and modify process machinery and support equipment requiring broad electrical knowledge and skills. The PLC/Electrical Technician is viewed as an active supporter of lean and preventative maintenance systems.
This position is also responsible for auditing work performed by others.
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. This position receives general supervision and works according to standards.
Responsibilities may include:
Ø Design, upgrade, repair, program, and troubleshoot controls for machinery and equipment used in processing, packaging, storage, or plant utility.
Ø Perform various activities relative to the installation, automation, and integration of new or relocated machinery.
Ø Advise contractors, management, maintenance personnel, and operators on machine operation and control issues.
Ø Installation and maintenance of programming software on department laptop. Backup and archiving of all automation files.
Ø Ability to program and design new equipment.
The successful PLC/Electrical Technician candidate will have:
Ø 3+ years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ø Knowledge of typical industrial control sensors, devices, systems, and networks.
Ø Proven proficiency in application, programming, and wiring of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, preferably Allen Bradley.
Ø Experience and technical expertise in electrical wiring and power distribution.
Ø Familiarity with NEC and NFP70E
Ø Troubleshooting experience with relay logic and three-phase contactors up to 480v.
Ø Strong electrical drawing interpretation skills used to trouble-shoot and modify equipment.
Ø Willingness and ability to accurately markup revisions to electrical drawings.
Ø Comfortable with use of multi-meter and various other test instruments.
Ø Have good organizational skills and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Ø Ability to work required shift while also being on-call for breakdown work or phone support during night and weekend hours.
Ø Skilled with MS Outlook, MS Excel Worksheet, and MS Word which are company standard platforms.
Ø Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ø Ability to hear sound alerts of equipment.
Ø Ability to adjust priorities as needed while managing multiple open tasks and projects.
Ø Thorough knowledge of production maintenance.
Ø Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical/industrial skills. HVAC and basic welding skills.
Ø Basic computer knowledge.
Ø Full understanding and compliance with the company’s safety procedures and policies.
Ø Basic math and measuring skills.
Ø Skill in operation of company tools and equipment.
Ø Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ø Ability to think and react quickly, ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ø Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impact on the organization.
Ø Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost.
