Maintenance Technician Kenosha food production facility full time hire

COS is a Continuous Ops Schedule – it’s 12 hours with 2 on/2 off/ 3 on/ 3 off.


  • No specific testing being conducted prior to interview or hire.
  • Requirements:
  • - HS Diploma or GED (Bachelors Preferred)
  • - 2 Years PLANT Maintenance including product packaging
  • - Basic knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical equipment, conveyors and production
  • - Knowledge of SQF and environmental safety regulations
  • - Fluent in English
  • - Math skills
  • - Basic computer skills – data entry

  • Works in partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor to perform basic maintenance and repairs on conveyors, packaging equipment, production equipment, electrical controls systems and other related plant systems Provides routine inspections and monitoring of all production equipment Performs troubleshooting on equipment and facilities as needed to determine the root cause of problem and perform proper repair Completes all work safely and follows all company policies and procedures regarding safety completion of work Completes building and facility maintenance as needed Supports and follows standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA Records and documents according to procedures, assuring that all equipment documentation is up to date and accurate Performs data entry into Computer Maintenance Management System Prepares unscheduled work orders to support production requirements Works in SAP to maintain daily work lists Remains current in training expectations Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive Primary focus of all business related efforts are and must remain that of promoting excellence in all products Other duties as assigned
  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities
    • Maintain all production equipment. Adjust and repair as needed to ensure it is running efficiently.
    • Maintain all building equipment such as air conditioning, heating units, lights, etc.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new lines and equipment. Modify existing equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
    • Fabricate parts as needed using a welder, mill, lathe, etc.
    • Complete purchase requisitions as needed for parts, equipment, and tools.
    • Train other team members on equipment operation.
    • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformances relating to Food Safety or Food Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
    • Identifie and record any problems relating to Food Safety or Food Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
    • Control further processing or delivery of non-conformaning product in terms of Food Safety or Food Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
    • Inform Operators, Line Leads, and Supervisors or other management personnel of any Food Safety or Food Quality concerns or of any processes which become non-compliant with specified requirements.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required as Essential
    • Ability to effectively communicate with external contractors and internal customers to maintain equipment needs.
    • Possess strong problem-solving and mechanical skills.
    • Ability to read and understand all Maintenance manuals, codes, and regulations.
    • Possess basic understanding of math.
    • Ability to use and operate all tools and machinery required to complete maintenance responsibilities.
    • Knowledge and/or experience in the following areas: Pnuematics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, piping, blueprint reading, equipment rigging, welding, electrical wiring, and machining.
    • Thorough understanding of all Company policies/procedures, including GMPs and Safety Policies.
    • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Understand the basics of scale operations, weights, and measurements.
    • Ability to communicate in English
  • Qualifications
    • A minimum of 1 year of relevant industrial or maintenance experience is required.
