Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Compensation: Full-Time / Exempt / Salary

Schedule: Typically Sunday thru Thursday 11am until close (8pm or later)

Location: Barlow Warehouse, Traverse City


  1. Lead the Warehouse Team in daily picking and packing of products for customer delivery out of the warehouse.
  2. Oversee receiving of products and the proper storage and quality of products according to food safety standards.
  3. Assist the Warehouse Team with Inventory Management Software issues, pick ticket printing, and other trouble shooting; locate product as needed.
  4. Maintain SOPs to ensure a clean and organized warehouse, as well as food safety standards.
  5. Operate forklift as needed; oversee forklift safety and training for the team.
  6. Immediately coordinate resolutions to inaccurate Sales Orders, out of stocks, mis-picks, with the corresponding department or individual as needed.
  7. Ensure all end of night duties are completed efficiently and accurately such as pick activities, sorting, routing, final SO check, and loading of trucks for the following day deliveries.

Food Safety / Compliance

  1. Collaborate with Warehouse Manager on ensuring Food Safety and Compliance standards.
  1. Understand and ensure FDA safety regulations are adhered to during operations.
  2. Collaborate with Warehouse Manager and Food Safety Compliance Officer to ensure food safety and AIB compliance practices are being met.
  3. Function as an employee safety champion for the work site.
  4. As needed, assist in other duties as assigned.


  1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Ability to work in an environment that demands safe, accurate and efficient work.
  3. Knowledge of food safety practices, AIB compliance standards, food industry quality practices and OSHA standards.
  4. Ability to promote safety and compliance and to correct unsafe practices as reported or observed.
  5. Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
  6. Close attention to detail, accuracy and personal pride in one's work are necessary.
  7. Ability to use a computer and adapt to new technology.
  8. Good writing skills with the ability to develop and organize documents electronically and in print.
  9. Ability to safely operate Forklift and other warehouse equipment.
  10. Experience with a continuous improvement mindset is preferred (Lean, Six Sigma, etc).
  11. This is a safety-sensitive position.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  1. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  2. Ability to maneuver a manual pallet jack with a pallet on it weighing up to 2,000 lbs
  3. Ability to be on one's feet throughout the shift, including standing, walking, stooping and bending.
  4. Pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, kneeling.
  5. Visual acuity to operate heavy equipment and the Forklift.
  6. Exposure to a variety of temperatures in the warehouse - including freezers and coolers (personal protective equipment is provided).
